So I'm watching Ok St v Gonzaga. Ok St is pretty athletic but I was expecting to maybe get a glimpse of Cobbins. Looking at the stats he's only pulled off the warmups twice this year for a total of 5 mins. Against Nichols St and another alike team. Looks like he's buried on the bench right now and I doubt those numbers increase come conference time. I don't follow the cowboys enough but it looks like he's burnt a year of playing time sitting on the bench. Too bad because I think he's a heck of a player.

Should have been a Lobo.

If Chris Walker would have stayed.....I am pretty sure we could have gotten Mr. Cobbins. Oh well.....you win some you lose some. But politics and AAU connections rule the game nowadays. We took a different direction from Texas-based that got us PMAC and AJ and JAMAL to a CAL-based strategy that got us Kendall Williams and Tony Snell who are showing great promise along with Alex Kirk who seems to be excited to be a Lobo evident by his presence at many Lobo games last yr as a Senior in Los Alamos.

It is all good though.

He's only a true freshman, still plenty of time to see some meaningful minutes. On the other hand maybe, just maybe he is not what we all thought he was. There has to be a reason the K State coaches aren't playing him besides politics. Just saying.

How did he play 2 minutes against Nicholls State if he's a red shirt?

All I know is that he's redshirting and he made that decision awhile ago. I just know what I was told and that came from the Horses Mouth.

Can't redshirt if he has played unless its a medical redshirt.

All I know is that the Oklahoma St. Coaches told Mike he was elgible for a redshirt. Why would they tell him that if he wasn't?

Yes Sir Yakka, you are exactly right. Cobbs is definately redshirting, a decision made long ago. He performed quite nicely in the preseason, and looks to be a major impact for them beginning next season. He's been bulking up this year and still runs like a deer :), it will be fun to watch him play over the next few years.
