If Duke wins tonight they should be #1 if not who knows. SDSU and BYU might move up a lot.

There is a poll on ESPN on who should be #1. SDSU and BYU are not part of the poll even with their RPIs. Want to bet that if the MWC was under contract with ESPN one or both would be in poll. The big east media will never project a MWC as a #1 in the poll or a #1 seed.

That is interesting, especially since on the Yahoo Sports user poll, BYU and San Diego State are Nos. 1 and 2. (Click below) Obviously, Yahoo Sports has more intelligent readers than ESPN. (Although, if Yahoo Sports spreads around one more way-off rumor about my local NBA team trading Carmelo, I may pull the plug on my work computer here.)

Here\'s the east coast/ power conference bias comment of the day. Seth davis was on radio and was asked his opinion of sdsu. He said he didn\'t even have them in his poll because they have done nothing to deserve it yet.

Keep.in mind this is directly from an AP voter who in the same conversation spoke of 10-12 Big East teams who should all get in the dance with no one below a 5 seed.

The NCAA tourney committee has proved that at the end of the day these polls mean nothing, we have had ranked teams get double digit seeds. All this is is a fun popularity contest to get by till the tourney

If SDSU played BYU two days ago and won by around 10, I think SDSU would be in the top 3... If BYU won that hypothetical game, I don't think they would be in the top 3 or 4 though. They would definitely be ranked above SDSU, but they did lose to us. (Not trying to discredit that win... But everyone else thinks that was a bad loss.)

But that's not the case. I think ESPN and the east coast bias forget that SDSU even exists sometimes... They're mourning the losses of the top teams to "mediocre" competition. I think SDSU and BYU will be ranked 5th and 6th respectively when the polls come out today. By next weekend, they will have all forgotten the upsets and it won't be enough for SDSU or BYU to crack the top 4.

At least it doesn't hurt that the game is being televised on CBS right? I just hope it's a great one and SDSU pulls through... I would hate to see the borg leave the conference will a title!
