Saw him play at the AZ Magic Memorial day Invite as well. This is a SOLID BIG boy. I saw Kirk play a lot as Los Alamos is in the same district as Capital and SFHS, Alex was big but soft as a marshmallow. Mac was more around the 6'8"-9"ish area, hits the boards hard, legit shot blocker/changer (at this tourney anyway) and not affraid of doing the dirty little things like hit the deck for a loose ball. His AAU Coach was saying he has grown like 3" from last season, he was 6'6" as a Soph, for what its worth.

Edit:

Here's and article that mentions both of our AZ Magic offers.

Class of 2014 big man Connor MacDougall (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/171256/garland-owens) (Scottsdale, Ariz./Westwind Prep) ended his recruitment over the weekend when he committed to Arizona State, ESPN.com has confirmed.

The 6-foot-9 junior chose the Sun Devils over Boise State, Cal, Colorado, New Mexico and Northern Arizona, among others. He is the second recruit from the 2014 class for ASU, joining shooting guard Kodi Justice (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/143080/kodi-justice) (Mesa, Ariz./Dobson).

To bad -- we needed another big.

Coach Sendek is in the hot seat. Connor may be playing for a different coach before too long if things don't turn around this year.

I think the staff is higher on Fitzner than they were on MacDougall. Fingers crossed.

IMO, Fitzner is the perfect stretch four that we have been missing since Ro.

I agree. Fitzner is a better long range shooter at this point, but I agree that Nick will play a big role at that stretch 4 spot.

Not sure how you can say that at this point without watching them play D1 side by side. They both appear to be great shooters. Mark has mentioned a few times that Nick may be the best shooter on the team this year. Fitzner though is beginning to blow up and will most likely have over 30 offers by the end of this season. Reminds me of Wiltjer at Kentucky.

Nick will surprise you guys how well he shoots it. He's top 5 for sure.

I can't really say why for sure, but I think Nick is about to have a great season. Even the way he carries himself screams "I'm a star!". He seems really confident and like he knows he belongs( which isn't always the case with incoming frosh)
