Does anyone live near this fellow in Colorado? If so please take a few hours and go see him play and let us know more about him. If I still lived in Colorado I would do it.

Below are the directions to his school:

Below is the remaining games on the schools schedule.

Randy Perkins, father of 2014 PG Josh Perkins, on New Mexico: "Obviously the departure of Coach Alford will impact our decision, however..."

More Perkins: “…a head coach carrying the interim title will have a bigger impact. I guess we’ll wait and see…not too long though.”

Perkins doesn't sign until next year, not sure why the "not too long" language be inserted?

He said on the Lobo Lair interview he will give a verbal after high school basketball season is over.

I think the Perkins, dad and son, know Noodles pretty well. UNM has a good shot with Noodles at the helm. Without him, no shot.

I don't know who was recruiting Josh it might have been Coach Noodles but this is a great talent and an even better person. Google Josh and get to know a little about him this might turn out to be the best all-around recruit that UNM has landed in a very long time.

I don't doubt that, maybe a 1 or 2 year player if he's looking to make that early jump??

Is this right? I thought he was going on his other "official" visits before making a decision?

Although, I would love if we could get a verbal this spring!

That would solidify our back-court with X at the 2 and Perkins at the point.

Josh Perkins should be the number 1 focus for the 2014 class. Does anyone have an update on the conversations Coach Neal has had with Josh and his family since he landed the job? I was watching some vidoes and he is the type of player that makes his teamates better. He has incredible vision and great instinct. Future Lobo great if we could land him...

Checking in at No. 42 in the 2015 class, Josh Perkins is actually more talked about nationally than he is locally. A product of Denver (Colo.) Regis Jesuit, the 6-foot-2 Perkins is a pure point guard with good size, very good handles

http://newmexico.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1498435

At No. 42 in the 2014 Rivals150, point guard Josh Perkins could be underrated. A 6-foot-2 floor general from Denver (Colo.) Regis Jesuit, Perkins has tremendous size, good strength and athleticism to spare.

So, is Josh Perkins a 2014 or 2015 recruit???

Denver East point guard Dominique Collier just committed to CU.

http://www.buffzone.com/ci_23192346/mens-basketball-dominique-collier-commits-tad-boyles-cu

He's a tremendous talent in his own right (61st in the nation and 4-stars). This will surely mean that Josh Perkins will not go to CU. That's one high interest school off his list and somewhat good news for us, leaving Gonzaga, Arizona, and Kansas as the schools to beat.

Collier and Perkins have expressed the desire to play together in college. Colorado is not out of the picture, in my opinion.

Please post where you read that Brutus. I can almost promise you I don't think that's true.

When Mark interviewed Josh I remember him saying that the coaches told him they wanted him to come in and run things - and he liked that fact. I can't see anyway that two 4 star guys would battle it out...

That would be an absolutely bizarre turn of events. While Colorado has been recruiting lights out, I just can't imagine them selling that to Perkins. The two of them would be better off starting on separate teams. They are both ready to play point guards and will not really thrive on the same team.

UCLA offers Perkins...

@JoshGershon: UCLA has offered a scholarship to 2014 Aurora (Colo.) Regis-Jesuit PG Josh Perkins.

Please post where you read that Brutus. I can almost promise you I don't think that's true.

After the Colo all star game in which Collier and Perkins played on opposite sides Collier was interviewed and he said that Perkins and he wanted to play with each other in the game because they did not have the opportunity last year. Collier added that THEY hoped they could play together now that HS was over. You can take that with a grain of salt but that was said.

Josh would be a really nice get for the Lobos! I think Coach Neal will give it a good effort to recruit this young man to New Mexico. He along with Cullen would give us two good players with exceptional passing skills to go along with a star studded lineup that will be on the court at all times.

Well here is a bit of good news if you think that Perkins will not sign with CU due to Collier signing with them.

“I went to UCLA [Friday],” Perkins told Fox Sports in the above video. “Beautiful campus and me and coach Alford really have a good relationship, so I like UCLA a lot.”
New UCLA coach Steve Alford – who also recently hosted 2014 Minnesota shooting guard Rashad Vaughn and 2014 Texas small forward Justise Winslow – has known Perkins since the coach’s time at New Mexico.
“My first official was to New Mexico while he was there,” Perkins said. “Him coming to UCLA just brought the relationship to California.”
“Perkins listed UCLA, USC, Gonzaga and Minnesota are recruiting him the hardest, and said Kentucky, Syracuse and UConn are newly in the mix.”
Hmmmmmmm!
