Another no show on 13 or the other channels for that matter. The one downside to living in a small state is that our flagship stations in ABQ have to cover sports across the entire state on Fridays. That uses up a lot of minutes, leaving little or no time for the stuff like Tyler/Taylor's visit to Abq. I'm much more interested in the Lobo recruit than in hearing that Santa Rosa beat Estancia 40-0. Oh well, that's life guys. I can't find anything about a 6'10" High School kid from Ohio named Taylor Young or Tyler Young. @#%^%)(*

They were 38 point underdogs, so yes, they covered. Hopefully Kent gave you the heads up that this was the sure bet this week. If he hasn't, he will tomorrow.

Van Tate had it at the 9:00 hour. Probably the same 15 second blurb that channel 13 had at 6. I think its Taylor Young. He seemed really tall and athletic. Nice to see that. He didnt talk much and was quiet. but be sure to check him out tomorrow at shirts and skins....

I guess the recruit that was in town two of our coaches didn't even know who he was! Thats how secret his arrival was. I was told that his family wouldn't talk to medial and would only give his first name. Props to V. Tate for getting a interview with the mystery man. I guess he just showed up and was spending time with Silvey Dominguez. Thats all I know!

Nice detective work, Protege. That list appears to be a year old as he's listed as a 6'9" Junior. Since all schollies have been handed out for next year, maybe he's looking at possible walk-on opportunities?? When BB players from Ohio start looking to UNM as a walk-on opportunity, that says a lot about SA's ability to attract people to his program.

99.99% of college kids looking at prospective colleges to attend pay for their own visit. I'm not talking Schollie recruits, just regular students (non-athletes). If this kid doesn't have any D1 offers and he's looking at prospective colleges to attend, and mommy and daddy can foot the bill, there's nothing unusual about visiting on his own dime. I think you may be viewing his visit from a different paradigm, Lost. Your reasoning is that he's a D1 prospect who already has offers on the table. Under those circumstances, I agree 100% - why would he pay at a walk on opportunity when he has schollie offers on the table.

Exactly Roob, I'm talking about guys being recruited. If he's visiting while he's still a junior, he's not a walk-on prospect. That's a last-case resort for most players that they would do when they're seniors, after the scholarship offers either dried up or never came.

The coaches don't even know who he is. Looks like his girlfriend is now going to UNM and he came out. There's no info anywhere about him. I wouldn't even give him a second thought.
