and BoSox beat the Angels. Doesn't mean anything. I see just about every series as a tossup. This is going to be a fun playoff season. Beckett pitched an awesome game.

Hurts to lose the opener, in your park, but I really don't see a dominant team among any who are in the playoffs. It really will be fun to see who ends up winning the WS.
Yeah, teams are so balanced, any series could go 0-fer for the home teams or vice versa...
Sorry, Philly and any other Yank fan, but that is the only team I cannot stand, so as long as someone (it's looking like the BoSox) is around to keep them out of the WS, I will enjoy whatever happens.
But I do like western teams, so go Rocks!

Both baseball analysts on ESPN this morning picked the Yankees and Phillies into the WS. They split on who would win. I could see anyone making and winning it.

Hehe...agree. The only team I do NOT want to see win is the Yankees. I would love to see a Cubs-BoSox WS.

Yeah, that would be fun! And I'd pull for the darn Cubbies, because that goat curse has just got to go!
On the other hand, I can remember how just a few years ago the talk was how Denver would never be able to field a winning baseball team, so I'd love to see them prove that crap wrong.

Rockies are on fire - 15-1 in their past 16, many of those games were do or die. I wouldn't bet against them.

:angry::angry: The Cubbies aren't breaking the curse against the D-Backs!

Rockies win again today, 10-5. Those boys are red hot, your chick ain't diddly squat (sorry, couldn't resist that one).
Until they face a pitcher(s) who can flat out dominate (Josh Beckett), these boys are going to continue to hammer the ball.

Memo to Roob who repsonded to his own post...the Rockies have been the hottest team in Baseball for some time. Jake Peavy took the loss in Colorado...it doesn't get much better than Jake Peavy who's a favorite to win the CY YOUNG.

Responding to my own post means I can give myself rep points. Nice. Red Hot as in 16 of their last 17. Before that they were just regular hot, not red hot. Was Peavy throwing on a full 4 days rest? I can't believe they knocked him around like that.

Phillies pitchers have served up a few, but man the Rocks are on fire. It has been a crazy season and anything is possible, but the Phils are going to need another colapse to advance.

That suprised me too. D-Backs up 8-2 over some team from Chi-Town:D

Two great games last night! Yankees lose and Red Sox win. Both exciting games. Sorry, Philly.

If you're a baseball fan, yesterday was an awesome Friday of baseball. Doesn't get much better than that. How about Manny's walkoff shot?? He just sat there and admired it as it went a couple of blocks past the stadium.

I'm not looking forward to the Rockies if they do indeed close it out1

It should be a good series. Being that you were rooting for the Cubbies I like the Western Division Arizona Diamondback chances. With Webb going on Thursday and the rest of the pitching staff this series should the limit unless the pitching is really bad!

D-Backs are a extremely talented young team like the Rockies...and this team has exceeded expectations and won 90 games when they weren't expected to. This team is hot with Young, Drew, Reynolds, Jackson, Upton, Synder, Brynes and others playing so well. I expect nothing less. The D-Backs have amazed all year as the underdog and I wouldn't be suprised if this team advances to the World Series. I personally wouldn't bet against the D-Backs...it has proven to be foolish when anyone does.

It's all about getting hot at the right time. Rockies came from nowhere to win the wild card. They are upstoppable right now. Both ESPN baseballl analysts picked the Phillies to win the NL. I would bet against the Rockies right now. They are playing in another zone right now.
And believe me, I'm not a Rockies fan.

Rockies look great! But I wouldn't bet against the D-Backs either. The young guys seem to be getting every game. The pitching has been great...two teams who know each other so well!

Rick and Yakka, you're both right. I wouldn't bet against the D-Backs or the Rockies right now. But doesn't that mean I should be willing to bet for both? You guys are confusing are confusing me with your betting advice. Not sure how to bet now. I'll just have to sit this one out.
