:nerdy Talking about renovations on the Stig show on 770...he is thinking BIG! And I like that! He isn't too concerned about numbers so having attendence above 21,000 is not a priority. He is more focused on increasing revenues. That means having a constant sell-out of THE PIT and having that reflect on supply/demand.
Personally I think having capacity between 17000-18000 is perfectly fine! I realize the current capacity is 18,018 fans....and adding the luxury boxes in the mezzaine level will reduce our seating a little. But imagine the additional revenue that will stream in. In addition, that leaves open the possibility of opening up the Lobo Level area for a different purpose! I think the current lobo level/media area seating takes up alot of space...and perhaps UNM can compensate the loss of seating due to luxury/mezz changes with adding seating in that area by the floor!...or you can give that area back to the students! Either way is cool!
Having a reastaurant on a potential level is very intriguing! Very unique I may add! Improving the "image" of the exterior is also very cool! He wants everyone to feel comfortable!!!
He said he does NOT want to change the seating bowl area! Good idea! I agree with him! He said in previous shows he does NOT want to add chairbacks. Chairbacks only reduces capacity and deteoriates the sporting/cheering atmosphere! Once again I agree with him!!!
He also explain that since the Davalos Center is so close to THE PIT....the idea is to connect the two buildings and build state of the art locker rooms for the players!!!!! He pretty much confirmed everything that swerve3030 posted earlier today!!!! He said the costs for everything will be in the $60 million price range!
..like the movie "Field of Dreams" says: BUILD IT and they will come!
All I gotta say is i hope the regents and the board approve this ASAP! We need to get the party started in here!!!!! :>
Krebs and his associate AD talked about marketing. Having a frequent flier program for future students. Having family packs. All the amenities oh my!!!!
