Here is a prediction from a Marquette fan before the game, don't think knew how the roster and style has changed since last season.

I saw that. I agree--and even without the roster/style changes, they obviously did not understand altitude, given that we hung with them reasonably well last season.

I will admit I didn't predict we would win, but I thought we would probably play them close. Predicting an EASY Marquette win didn't follow in my mind.

Yea, I thought Marquette might win by about 5 or so. Felt a good game, win or lose, by the Lobos could start bringing more fans back. Don't know if realistic yet, but would be nice to see a legit 7500+ Saturday for the Aggie game. Continued good non conference play should lead to some good crowds for conference games as interest should be picking up again. And hopefully more students start coming more consistently. But the crowd getting into it tonight, especially throughout the 2nd half, brought back memories of the good years.

    No, that's asking too much.

Maybe that we are not New Mexico State?

It was really nice to see The Pit rockin' last night. Bradbury said on the postgame radio show, lastnight's crowd was the loudest he has ever heard The Pit. He gave credit to the screaming fans for helping the Lobos come back in the 3rd quarter and said the fans encouragement truly urged the players on. I like that he urged fans to bring a friend to a game to introduce them to this team. In my opinion, any basketball fan would enjoy seeing this team play...

    Go Lobos, Win the MWC

Women’s Basketball: Lobos upset No. 16 Marquette, improving the team to 2-0

By Matthew Narvaiz  Published 42 minutes ago
“Can’t say enough about and can’t say enough times that we have the absolute best fans in America,” Lobo head coach Mike Bradbury said immediately after his team’s win. “It says 4,169...4,200 — it felt like 42,000. That place was loud, and it made a huge, huge difference.”

“I’ll tell you what, I was telling her that’s as good a single game performance (since) I’ve coached (at New Mexico),” he said. “I had no idea she had 39 (points) and 13 (rebounds), but thank goodness it wasn’t 37 and 13 or it wouldn’t have been enough. Jaisa was unbelievable.”

“I know this: we wouldn’t have won without her,” Bradbury said of Smith. “She brought some energy, and she rebounded the ball. She scored the ball around the basket.”

“If you would’ve said Jasmine Smith is going to lead your team in field goal attempts against Marquette, I wouldn’t have thought this would be the outcome,” the head coach said.

"The Lobos’ (2-0) win over the Golden Eagles (0-1) marks the program’s first win over a ranked opponent at the Pit since defeating Southern Methodist University in March of 2010. It’s also the team’s first win over a top-20 opponent since defeating then-No. 16 Brigham Young in 2006."

Famous Last Words! The season opener should be smooth sailing for a Golden Eagle team that has big plans for this year.

Does anyone have a link to the Marquette coach's comments?
