Awesome to read about the recruits. I have to admire Rusher. He had to work hard to get eligible. That takes character.

I cracked up the office this morning when I walked up to one of our salesman and said, "Now take your time, Dave, this is a test and I want you to get it right, which one is the basketball player?".

I believe he's still enrolled at Eastern Utah this summer. He'll join UNM later in the summer.

So I came here with Chris so I could get closer to this man, coach Neal. He’ going to watch over me, and know everything I do before I do it.”

Said Neal, “Chris did a lot of work (with Rusher), he’s very close to Isaiah. I’m very fortunate that I recruited Isaiah before that at Iowa. Coach Alford believed in him, he trusted Chris, he trusted me and saw that he were going to get it done — although he would get frustrated, and I had to talk (Rusher) off the ledge once in a while"

These are great quotes from both Rusher and Neal. You really get the sense something special is happening. I swear Alford and Neal have a blood-signed pack that they will remain together until they get a final 4 appearance under their belt. Unbelievable credit goes to Rusher. He could have EASILY gone the NBA development league route and more than likely made it to the League. Kids don't realize how special the NCAA is until after they've missed out on it. Rusher's hard work will pay off with a special year or 2 (or 3) at UNM before going straight to the NBA when he's done here. What's even better is that Rusher believes his own hype without having an overgrown ego. He's not under the impression he's going to score 20 pts/night. He is under the impression that NOBODY'S going to score 20/night ON him.

Just watching some of the NBA playoffs, that league is really lacking for good big men, especially power forwards who can defend and rebound because of all the Euro influence. Rusher has some great opportunities ahead of him if he works hard here and improves like he should.
