Wow. Talk about a muffed punt by Cass.
I'm not sure if we had a superior option LoboExpat.
The Sunday night Fox Sports Net game would have resulted in our student-athletes getting home in the middle of the night or early Monday morning. They'd still be expected to be in class that day AND begin immediate preparation for a powerful Tulsa team that would have been already 2 days ahead in their preparation for our game since they play their season opener on Friday, Sept. 4.
Plus, it's our first game under a brand new staff, they want to build continuity and stability, and in the coaches' opinion, keeping the players on as regular a schedule as possible was very important to them.
I suppose if you want to assign blame, then it probably lies with both Texas A&M and New Mexico for their records on the field last year. Had we both been 9-4 in 2008, I think the Big 12 TV partners would've been more interested in finding a TV slot for the game.
If it's any consolation, I think when it's all said and done this will end up being the only game on our entire schedule that won't be televised nationwide.

Thanks for the explanation, Alfredo. You actually have explained it better with this post than the quotes that were used in the article. And that is what I was referring to, Cass either did a poor job of explaining why it mattered that it was Locks first game or the quotes that were used did not do justice to the explanation that was given.
So are you saying that they are going to get the Tech game on TV? Cuz if they didn't, I was considering driving to Lubbock for that.
