can DC or Wally stream it from the Fox channel 617 on Direct TV?
Why would my50 request he not stream it? Anyone who could watch my50 would watch it there, as it is so much better than the stream, but those who can't get it, it is better than nothing????
Just curious.....![]()

something will be done im sure. i just dont like snitches ratting out to other companies whats going on. so possibly ,all this stuff will be done via PM or some other way less obvious
The movie & TV industry just don't get it. Twenty years ago, they cried that VCRs & DVRs would KILL their business. I don't know, perhaps they finally realized that selling VCR tapes & DVD/Blu Ray discs are actually a lucrative revenue stream. If they (the industry not my50 ), would pull their collective heads out, they would realize that ad revenue on their streaming content would make them a mint. Just ask Google.
And don't get me started about DRM'd content.

Take it easy. Listen, nobody snitched. My50 was really cool about it. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that I was going to stream the my50 feed and it didn't take a snitch for my50 to know. I mean there is a user on this board called "My50-TV" and I posted a message that said "i plan on streaming the my50 feed." So I was the one who snitched, okay? and let me stress, they were cool about it. I asked them a few questions, they answered, and so let me explain to you their position.
First, they are Lobo fans and they understand that the ratings model under which their entire industry operates under is not ideal. They make money by ratings. They higher their ratings, the more they can charge the advertisers. Even if they were to stream their programs themselves, their ratings would not go up because there isn't a TV tuned in. No TV, no rating. It's stupid. And they know it's stupid. And they know that the advertisers would even want the extra streaming viewers no matter where the viewers are physically located. But they have contracts. They do not own all rights to the ORU broadcast. They only own the rights to broadcast it to the local viewing area. And if they were to know that someone was "stealing" the signal and streaming it, but they did nothing about it, the rights holder (FOX, CBS, whoever) could go after them. I look at that and know that in this economy, I would not someone doing something that could threaten my business and my job. And so I respect that.
The internet really has a way of f***ing with old school business models. This is not unlike the Napster/MP3 thing from 10 years ago where the music companies could not wrap around their heads that people wanted easy access to music and would even pay for it as long as they didn't feel like they were getting gouged. iTunes has gone a long way in filling that niche but is still far from perfect IMHO.
So going forward, I can only hope that the MWC and the Universities in the conference are able to somehow reserve internet streaming rights to themselves and then give the fans easy access to the games they wish to enjoy at a fair and reasonable price. IMHO, if they charge $1-2 for someone to watch the stream then it would be great for all involved. I think the $10 that is commonly charged is outright gouging. You can buy a ticket to most games for that and being at the game and watching a low quality internet feed are two VERY different experiences.
So, in short, sorry.
Seems all the complaints about them missing the hawaii game led them here to apologize. it's all about the money...
The good with the bad. Unfortunately all the attention will adversely affect the lair too... with hype and success come trolls...
just sayin...

Perhaps.
Last week a girl was jailed 2 days for recording a few second of the new Blue Moon movie (it's all the rage... Kinda like an Ironman for girls). If the theaters turn in pirates, they pocket $500.
Thanks for the explaniation DC. I just could not understand why they would not want it streamed. Anybody in their right mind would rather watch the tube. I wasn't trying to be critical of them, and I really appreciate what they do. I was just curious.
Thanks again...

Give My 50 a break! Lobo fans bitch all the time about no real local coverage. They really want to broadcast a few Lobo games and when the whole world can not see it we want to gang up on the little guy. Fox, ESPN, Comcast, etc. are big fat cats so screw them but My 50 is My Friend so lets be supportive of them.
im not talking about you snitching or anyone specifically. im just saying, its rather easy to email said company and say "hey they arent streaming our footage. but they are streaming yours. let me help you and guide to the perps".
one crew calls the mountain. or that same crew calls VS. and its all a wrap. so from here on out, its ghost recon status. im not saying ill be streaming behind peoples backs but it is what it is
