    Phil Steele's All-MWC team

Several UNM players made Phil Stele's All-MWC team. Congratz to all!

Nice find. Tough to argue with the standings. I thought I might quibble with Rainey being second team but Garland of AF had a monster year, deserves the recognition.

Congrats to Eric Cook. It will be interesting to see who replaces him at center.

Rainey should be 1st team. He was leading the conference in sacks for a good portion of the season.

As for center, it will either be the red-shirt freshman Dillon Farrell or Ben Contreras, should he choose to come back.

Yeah, you could make an argument either way. Garland fills up more of the stat sheet but Rainey has the numbers of a dominant pass rusher: 10 sacks, 10 hurries. Garland has more pass deflections, solo tackles and a couple of blocked kicks on his resume.

Any word on how Contreras is leaning?
