Rushing the COURT!

After all of the debate this week about rushing the court I think the student section did EXACTLLY what they should of done.. They held off, let the players shake hands, then Hobson, Ro and a few others went over and started "taunting" them and then BAM, they got swarmed!! I fricking love it!!

I love this team! Gary was phenomenol and Martinez had some fantastic plays. The Lobos kept the Cougs from running away with the title. The crowd was vintage. Alford once again credited the crowd. Best quote so far, Alford said he would not trade Gary for ANYONE!

Not rushing the court was awesome.

It was just one ranked team beating another good solid ranked team at home.

I really enjoyed how the players themselves went and celebrated after the handshakes with the students.

Could things have gone any better for the Lobos tonight?

Top to bottom, one of the best all around UNM games I've ever been too. UNM and BYU played great. No huge leads for either teams, just really solid basketball minus the airballs from BYU. UNM had it's share of circus shots around the basket, but for the most part, just a really, really good NCAA college basketball game. Our fans and students were great and respectful. Heck, the 2 teams COMBINED for 22 turnovers. That's good ball. 2 great coaches, 2 great teams, 1 great outcome.

Other than trying to start the wave every timeout when people were into the game to care, the student section was great.
