    Did you see this yet?

    First Post Banner
Jeff Goodman has DH as one of his top tep players of the year so far. Wow, that is quite remarkable, and Goodman has a good reputation also. Very nice for DH. See what happens when he plays unselfishly!!! Great job Butta! Not to mention he's the cover boy for the article also!

Darington Hobson, 6-7, 205, G, Jr., New Mexico

The Lobos' junior college transfer is one of the most versatile players in the nation. He had 16 points, 13 boards and four assists in a win at UNLV and finished with eight points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a victory at Utah. Hobson is averaging 15.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 40 percent from long range.

Darrington is the only player from a non BCS school and also the only one out west on his list.

    Great props for DH!! Also...

#6 Jon Scheyer, the 6-5, 190lb G from Duke is putting up numbers that I could see PMAC do by his senior year - 19.2 ppg, 5.4 assists, 3.5 rebs, 1.5 stls... actually, PMAC should top out higher in the rebounding category, and as a scorer, his potential is unlimited!

Holy cow, that is some serious company!

And to think many hacks and other MWC schools' fans think he's third in a three man race for MWCPOY...

    Take that Jimmer!
I thought Alford was the only one that might get some national praise, but good for Hobson... Hobson should at least be MWC POY, though.

And Alford should most definately be in the running for NATIONAL COY...

National COY has to go to Painter imo.

Jimmer is a better player than Hobsen, Hobsen is more versatile but Jimmer has one of the best strokes in the country. Both are really good players, Hobsen is the better NBA prospect though

All three have collected 2 POW honors. Not to take anything away from AJ, but Butta handed AJ's POW to him with a big shiny bow on it in the form of several pick and roll assists and AJ's man trying to play help defense for some highlight reel dunks. Will and AJ are so good inside because of those unbelievable entry passes. They're so open they have to finish. Similarly, Ro and PMAC are so good outside for the same reason. How do you prepare for that inside outside punch? Then you factor in the rebounding...how many balls does he keep alive? Maybe he doesn't get the put back, but keeps the ball at the rim for someone else to get a tip. Not many athletes out there can grab a board and start the fast break off the dribble And finally, his ability to handle the ball takes some pressure off of DG as the only ball handler on the court...A big reason DG is so clutch at the end of games. That's why, in my opinion he is a true POY candidate.

I think it is Boehiem's race to lose for COY, if the Lobos win out, I'd give it to SA.

Jimmer is more of a product of the scheme of his offense. He does not create he does not rebound and he does not dish. He can shoot, but that is it (and most of the time only after being screened opened). Butta can drop a triple double on you at any time... and to say that he is not a good shooter is a stretch, but in the scheme of our offense he is not the spot up shooter Jimmer is. I have seen the guy score at will off his jumper, and he does it without all the screens and set plays that are run for Jimmer. Im willing to bet if we ran the offense BYU did for Jimmer then you would see that Darrington is a great shooter too...as it is I will take the versatility of Hobson over the one dimension that Jimmer provides.

Nice to see Butta on that list!! I wish he has a chance win but either John Wall or Even Tuner will win it.

Don't forget about the other Freshman on that Kentucky team....Cousins seems to be getting more hype than Wall these days.

If he doesn't dish, why is he averaging 5.0 assists per game? (DH averages 4.5) As long as there are other shooters on a team, I would still choose Darington over Jimmer because he does just about everything.
