    What, no salary-related questions like:
Q: "Did you know your dad makes $975,000 per year?"

Look at Alford's form on my Avatar. Left hand is there just to provide support while right hand provides the force and follow through. Same way every time. Just great fundamentals.

8 for 8 in the state tournament for a freshman not a bad way to start off in the pit

8-8 from the stripe is great, and it's also impressive that he managed to get to the line that many times. Nice work!

Now Gonz...why even mention any questions regarding to coaches salary? The rise in attendence revenues has more than paid for his salary!

n How is living in New Mexico different from living in Iowa?

Kory: People here love basketball. It's like Indiana. It's not like that in Iowa. Iowa is more of a football or wrestling state. That's why my dad loves it here and why I love it. In Iowa, I was younger. I was not friends with the Iowa players. Now I'm close to their age. I love being part of the Lobos.

n Were you embarrassed about the incident following the BYU game?

Kory: I don't think it was a big deal like everyone thought it was. Someone told me to look at it at school and I laughed. It didn't shock me. I don't think my father should have given an apology (to BYU's Jonathan Tavernari), I don't think he did anything wrong.

Bryce: My dad called me afterward and told me what had happened. I watched it on ESPN the next day. Tavernari said a few things. It was in the heat of the moment. A couple of my friends asked me about it. My dad doesn't have a temper at home. He doesn't swear at all at home. He does on the basketball court when he's mad.

Is there a possibility of them playing for the Lobos?

Hey Yakka, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most coaches son's walk-ons? I THINK Kruger's kid was on scholly at UNLV because he was already on a scholly at ASU and there's some rule with the NCAA that you can't go from scholly at one school to walk-on at another? It might even apply specifically to situations exactly like that? I'm pretty sure there's some odd "playing for your Dad rule". IF everyone involve in the Alford family wants one or both of the kids to play at UNM, they could walk-on, pay in-state tuition and UNM basically gets an extra roster spot, or possibly 2 for a year. Everyone thinks the idea is crazy when it's brought up for in-state kids, but I think it's the norm when you're the head coach and making enough to comfortably pay for in-state tuition. I would assume it's either a "of course I want to play for my Dad" or "I love my Dad, but I couldn't play for him". It's somewhere between not our business and a fair recruiting business.

I am pretty sure that it is in his contract that any of his kids can go to UNM for free. I think Bryce will be the more highly recruited Alford. Neal will probably be the best of the bunch but just depends on how tall each of them gets

Very mature young men, smart, great answers to some out of bound questions for these young guys. They are Alford's, for sure, classy. I believe scollies will be up for them, and Neal's son too.

It might have been sorta tacky....but the kids handled it very maturely and honest. The Alford parents obviously are raising them to speak openly but in a dignified way. I call that kind of speaking ability "tactful candor".
