I've been reading and watching a lot of the local and national coverage of the LOBOS. While it seems that the national media is still ignoring them the LOBOS keep winning. Vegas, ESPN and other National outlets have the #3 seed LOBOS as 1.5 to 2 pt underdogs to the #11 seed Huskies. NO RESPECT. But that's ok. The team can take that and use it as locker room motivation. How many team's have been motivated and WON in the last few years, simply by the "Nobody believed in us" talk. (For a recent example look at the NY JETS.) The buzz before Thursday's game was that the players were nervous being in their first NCAA tournament game. From the stories I have seen and read since, they seem like they have relaxed some and are really taking the moment in. Hobson and Martinez, especially appear to have a sense of the importance of the game to the team, the University and the community. This is going to play a huge factor in deciding tonights game. The LOBOS have the talent and athleticism to run with the nation's best. I think tonight's game is going to come down to prepardness, mental toughness and hunger. As us fans have witnessed all season long, the LOBOS have been able to display all three in bursts and have been able to pull out the tough W's that other teams would have not.
Tonight's game will offer the challenge of not only one big man pounding inside but a tandum that has, in spurts, displayed toughness, quickness, and the ability to score. It's going ot take a full 40 minute game from the whole team to shut down the bigs and prevent the outside shots. If we can open up the game with pressure, fast breaking and some big 3's. The LOBOS WILL be headig to the Sweet 16.
BRING ON THE HUSKIES!!!!
LET'S CUT DOWN THE NETS!!!!!
We are ready for the Huskies. Bring it. 1.54 pm Almost time.
