Here we go! Go LOBOS!!!!!! Great piece on Knight they played before the game.

Nice shot there!!!! Gary with big hit as shot clock goes down.
Nice start for the Lobos, sounds like the crowd is rocking.
GO LOBOS
17-5 GO LOBOS

Why is it that every time we have a big game, we get David Hall and Scott Thornley for refs? Wow we are really pouring them in from 3 land.
Growler

Playing tough D for sure, needs to keep the lead in double digits headed to the locker room.

WHOOOO! What a way to end the half. They were up big on us last year, and we fought back, got to keep the defensive focus!!! Go Lobos!
that was freaking AWESOME! I'm pissed I can't be at the game!!! ARGH

Thanks for RPS's post and all the LOCO LAIERs'.............thought i heard loblair chant, no?
penche prodigy adsl feed, 250-550 kkbs, broken show on verus,,,, butt LOBOIS KICK ASS., YES.
Stuck at work, so had to listen online. Great win Lobos!!!!
Loved watching the Lobos play. I love the fact that they play hard. Playing 10 guys will help in MWC play.
PLAYER OF THE GAME:
Darren Prentice. watching him in the first half guard #20 was a thing of beauty. I'm pretty sure he got in his head. His INTENSITY on DEFENSE was a nice thing to watch. I enjoyed watching the defense more than offense.
get this: at one point it was 1 team foul for UNM vs. 7 team fouls for TTU. Guess what happens next?
they call it tight on UNM defensively and let TTU back into the game
I thought official capacity was just over 18,000. Your figures here imply that capacity is 18,718.
***added later
Actually, from GoLobos.com
Five times they [the UNM Women's basketball team] have filled it to the 18,018 regular season capacity. Four times they sold out NCAA tournament games when the capacity was over 16,000. Each of these nine games has come since the 1999 season.

Great win -- Gary is the real deal, if his is the mold from what the new recruits are cut, this program is going to rock.
A Good Pit Crowd...not great, but good...a start, something to build off of.
Giddens -- FAB defense and rebounding, he really is excelling on those ends...free throws, not so much...and struggled from the field (forced a few from behind the backboard and missed some open jumpers)...but dang, his defense is game changing.
Martinez -- continues to be a glue/utility/floor-burn player...still has a little Greg Shornstein in him (sometimes goes outside of his game which typically ends poorly)...
Farris -- had a great second half (three straight clutch post moves for buckets) and even turned a posible screw up into a crowd pleasing dunk!
Harris -- clutch put backs...really acting like he belongs out there.
Pegues -- he played with some positive, confident energy today and had impacts on defense and rebounding...still struggling on offense.
Top -- HUGE NBA three to kill a Tech run. Some underrated defense.
Every Lobo contributed to the win.
9-11 on threes!
It was a fun game...
Hopefully the Aggie game is a sell out and we shoot better than we did in LC.
Go Lobos!
yeah. those clutch post moves were awesome. Coach drew up the same play it looked like 3-4 straight times. #32 always took over guarding duties on JR as he went baseline, and faris seemed to cut in under to the low post for the 1 on 1 move.Farris -- had a great second half (three straight clutch post moves for buckets) and even turned a posible screw up into a crowd pleasing dunk!
I saw deja vu 3-4 straight possessions.
A real thing of beauty because they went back to what was working time and time again and these set nba like plays worked perfectly

We saw a lot of on-ball screens as well...something we hadn't seen much of this season. It really helped free up our PGs for key drives.
Living in California, I do not get to see the Lobos much. This team is coached so much better than the last time I saw the Lobos in the horrible pig tail game in Las Vegas. Thank God McKay is gone! It is great to see Lobo Basketball on the upswing.
Unfortunately, I had to spend most of the day catching up on work that was delayed because of the ice storm. I did get to see the last 10 min. of the second half at a local sports bar, though.
Naturally I was pleased with the results. Bos looked pretty good for that stretch.
Granted, I didn't see the whole game but I've got to give some love to Giddens. It seemed like every time I looked up at the screen he was making a play or involved. But the clincher for me was how pumped he was and the way he showed appreciation for his teammates as they came to the bench in the closing seconds. I don't think the guy gets enough credit for what he's doing this season and the turnaround he's showing in all aspects of his game and conduct with the team.
In any case, good win. GO LOBOS!!!!
Welcome to the Lair, Pasadena!!
NOT many highlights here but it gets the job done i presume.

Great comments, UNMFan.
Aside from Gary's great game, there were a couple of other things that caught my eye.
- Faris' post moves down the stretch. He had 3 or 4 great moves that were very encouraging. Would like to see Daniel put together 3 or 4 consecutive games where he's able to score in the paint like that. We can really use some an inside scoring presence. He's shown that he's capable of doing it, but he needs to do it with consistency now.
- Pegues and Harris stepped their games up today. Pegues still has trouble with his footwork in the low post and as a result he has a tough time finishing, but today he was more aggressive and he wasn't hurrying his shots down low. He's not a finished product by any means, but today I thought he took a big step forward. He's starting to develop some confidence, that's guud. Harris also was a greater presence down low today with some nice putbacks. Their next test is this next game against the Aggies. Would like to see both of them build on this game. Good things ahead if they continue to develop.
