You still have time to install certain energy saving improvements in your house and to buy certain energy saving appliances. You must pay for it this year (credit cards are good if you can't afford the entire amount) - and some stuff has to be certified by the dealer/installer.
This covers such things as furnaces, water heaters & air conditioners; adding insulation, energy efficient windows and doors, coated roofs; solar panels and some more. If you want more information, PM me. Credit is generally 30% of amount expended, but there are maximum amounts ($1500 of credit on most residential items).
There is also some credits available for business, but I won't give advice in that (don't know enough and I'd want to see teh business in any event).
A word of warning. There are a significant number of scammers out there. Be careful.
