There's very little mentioned that they have a transfer that's active this year who's a 3pt gunner a la Toppert or Kendall Wallace. That is a huge addition to their already loaded roster. I said earlier this year that UNM vs SDSU might very well be the best game the MWC has ever had. If Drew comes in as expected and our young guns continue to improve at the same rate they are...it's ON!

Honestly, all the teams have been impressive this far in the season they all look like they picked up where last year left off. Conference race this year is going to be intense and the victor will get major spoils (high seeds, tournament tested, etc). It's really going to be hard to single out a team to win the whole thing. As everyone raised their game. The middle of our league is better them most and are improving, so is the bottom of our league except air force.

I recorded the game and their big men are always attacking the basket, Alex and Cameron are going to have to be very phyiscal in that matchup. Last yr their bigs ate us alive in San Diego. They look like they were playing with St Marys most of the game... St Marys is a well coached team and lost some guys from last yr team but they were no match for SDSU at any position.

They showed TCU highlights on the local news last night and I think mentioned they have the best record to start a season in the last 10 years, going back to when they dominated the old WAC. (Remember that 16-0 team with Lee Nailon that went NBA and Kurt Thomas before that?)

They may not be that great on the road, but suddenly the road game in Fort Worth is going to be much tougher to get a W than it has been in recent years.

The Gaels had the ONE guard who was fantastic but other than that, they had no answer for our inside presence. TEN blocks! Rahon is going to be a "DAMMIT, WHY DID YOU LEAVE HIM OPEN!" kind of player. The matchup I'm looking for is to see which Lobo will have Kawhi Leonard and which Aztec will have Drew Gordon. Damn, I'm excited for this season. I don't see why the Aztecs cannot match the Lobos' 30 wins of last season. Can't wait for Jan 15, both to see the matchup and to see the new Pit. Cheers, all!

I couldn't aggree more. I think they are overrated. They will get exposed... I see UNLV, SDSU and UNM teaching them a lesson this year (as long as the refs don't help them out again... ie @ sdsu last year). It's going to be nice when we sweep them again. I see a toss up between SDSU, UNM and UNLV this year, with BYU bringing up the rear.
