    NMSU - Standing Room Only

Not sure if this has been posted - forgive me if it has -

Will standing room only be sold for NMSU game or any game for that matter?

A while back I asked a similar question and somebody who knew the contractor said that they weren't going to obtain a final certificate of occupancy until everything was done inside the building and they had until the end of the month to do so. So my guess would be that they aren't going to be done and have the final inspection before this Saturday. Hopefully by the conference games, the university will have figured it out and they will offer SRO... Hope I'm wrong, though, because it would be great to have closer to a full house this weekend.

I have an official comment on the SRO from the expediter on the project. The PIT is still on a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (CO). The State Fire Marshall is not allowing a final C.O. because the smoke evacuation system is not fully operational. The contractor and subcontractor(s) are working on the problem. A final C.O. will not be issued until it is fully operational. Therefore, the State Fire Marshall will not allow standing room only attendees at any of the games. When it is fixed, UNM will be able to sell SRO tickets.
It has been known for months now that the final "end" complete date for the Contractors is right around December 30th. So I am guessing the Temporary CO will end right around that point. Look for every conference game to have SRO, if all goes as planned. All educated assumptions on my part.

I think in the contractors eyes, we should all be lucky we are even playing games in the building in its still "inncomplete" state

    Thanks for the info.

Not sure why UNM is not pushing harder for final Certificate of Occupancy.

Every game has a potential loss of $20,000. I'm sure they are trying their best to expedite the process

Not at all. Temporary CO are issued all the time.

As long as the issue doesn't affect the safety and health of the occupants, a temporary CO can be issued.

If the contractor has a final completion date of Dec. 30th, then it was agreed by UNM to allow this. If this is indeed the date of final completion, UNM was aware of the CO issues and not having certain items complete by the 30th.
