We all know who real fans are, 13-6, or 6-13, we are always on here, talking about the positives, and the good things we see out there, fair weather fans are the people that look at last year and expect that every year. Then when we hit 6 losses its OMGAWD! And they stop following the team. I am not concerned about the 6 losses, i know alford will do what is needed to have us competeing down the road, and we will win the conference tournament. I am no fair weather fan, and neither are any of the other guys i see on here talking about how well our team does in tough situations. To all the true Lobo Fans... I owe you a beer.
I'll be here regardless! Always have, alwaws will!
LET'S GO BOS!!!!!!!

MMALobo make mine a pint... thanks GO LOBOS
MMMmmmmmm Beeeeeer.
I've been a fan for 56 yrs! I have seen The Good,The Bad and The Ugly! I remember being among 500 fans in Johnson Gym when the team might win 5 games! I sat in freezing rain at University Stadium and watched my Lobos get stomped 41-7 by an undefeated Utah St. Team. I stayed to the bitter end with about 200 fans! I live in Las Vegas now and I follow my Lobos to this day. I will be at the Thomas & Mack tomorrow to root my Lobos on!

Win or Lose real fans will always be there!!! We care more for our program...then any fan base in the country. We have proven that time and time again....We are not one player, we are not one coach(afford u da man), we are proud and knowledgeable, WE ARE THOUSANDS STRONG FROM ALBUQUERQUE TO ATLANTA.. we will stand strong with our lobos through hell and back..one thing that will NEVER change..WE ARE NEW MEXICO AND WE ALWAYS WILL BE!!!!
I've got a message for this team: screw your critics.
Guys, if you do one thing this year, make sure it's that you have fun playing the game with your team mates. Season's too short to spend it frustrated. Go out there and have a good time; the wins will come. And if they don't we'll sure as hell enjoy cheering you on! We're not going anywhere!
I'll take a Boot! haha.... ok ok maybe just a litre!

The Lobo Lair: It's how we roll!!!
Had a strange thought tonight ... OK ... yeah ... those voices in my head were talking to me again ;)
I just thought ... unrealistic as it may be ... a "pep talk" from Ro would maybe work wonders in giving our boys a boost of self-confidence. He has always been such an inspiration ... inside and out. I remember Ro calming team mates down ... giving his all ... and just basically working with everyone. Imagine if he could somehow transfer that special part of him to ignite a chemistry?
So, these same voices are telling me that I need to hold out for a Vegas tower of beer from MMALobo ;)

I heard somewhere (maybe Lobo Talk) somebody ask Alford if Butta had given the team a prep talk prior to the SDSU game. I don't recall his exact answer, but I got the impression that Coach doesn't want his team to need outside motivation in order to play well. But then again, it could have just been the Heinekens talking to me.
The Lobo Lair: It's how we roll!!!
Hey ... I hear you ... Heinekens can do that to you. As I said ... it was just these voices whispering to me LOL! Sometimes we need to think outside the box to get things going ;) OK ... voices calling again ... I'll get back to you on this. It's weird ... but one of these voices sounds like Steve - Bloo's sock puppet ... very confusing :O
Bloo ... any explanation?!!! ;)
If people are so spoiled by the team's recent success that they get upset over this season, then they probably are too fickle to even consider as real fans. The Lobos could lose every remaining game on their schedule this season and they will still have my full, unwavering support, same as if they won all those games. Gee whiz folks, we have a super young team. Yeah, they have already lost more games than all of last season, but who could expect them to win another 30 games this year? We still have a pretty nice overall record. We will probably start winning again, but if we don't we still have much to look forward to next year. Maybe it's disappointing, but it shouldn't be all that unexpected given the inexperience of our young players and the unfortunate circumstances regarding Negedu's health setback. If the guys make a few more free throws, we probably have maybe 2 or 3 more wins. It's not the end of the world and we should focus on the positives, especially looking at the long term future.

As many of us said earlier this year, the Lobos owe us effort and execution not wins. Alford's Lobos have always given both and continue to do so and just like I loved Charlie Harrison's walk on team when they won like 4 games because they hustled and executed, I love this team. The chemistry will come (hopefully sooner than later), the shots will start dropping, freshman will mature, and the wins will follow because the hard stuff, talent, coaching, consistency, are all there, it just takes some time.
Arrogant Bastard Ale please.
Thanks!

Big ole Frothy Guinness for me brotha! And I toast you all! Here is to all the pasionate lobo fans out there not losing the faith!
Go lobos!
I am a fan spoiled by last years success! I pout all week after one of the losses we have experienced.... but I am there on gameday, cursing comcast because the basic package my mother has out here in Aztec doesn't include the Mtn. If we were coming off a "typical" year with 6 to 12 losses, this would be considered a young team that is performing slightly ahead of themselves, with a chance to surprise many at the Mtn tourney... and we would be looking forward to that and a strong year next season. I appreciate Ro and Butta, but they are gone. I appreciate what we have now, and where we will go with these young men, this year and next. We are not a power-house program, yet. We can't expect to be able to reload and go every year, yet. Hell, most of the power-houses can't do that regularly either!
Enjoy what we do have. Live in the moment, even if some of these moments this year are a little more bittersweet than we have become accustomed to. Example: My crappy non-digital cable package in BFE-Aztec does in fact have Versus! I am in New Mexico, my mother thoughtfully loaded the freezer with "The Green", and in less than an hour, I will sit down with some home made salsa, (too much onion, I will do better next time!) chips, a beer, and an empty house to watch a Lobo game. I am thankful and appreciative! Go Lobos!
Don't think there's anything wrong with expecting more, but I tell you what, I'm always going to be there watching. Unfortunately, now I've moved across the damn country, I can't be in the Pit anymore, so you all better go and live it up.....remembering those of us that can't go to the games live anymore!
I'll sit here and cheer and hope for more, but will never, ever stop supporting.
