talking Huge Greenwood.
Why did the 610 guys ask him to compare him to Luc Longley? Do some research!
They're expecting to sign one more, not necessarily by the end of the day. I guess that means they are expecting Eman to be done and they're expecting Jarion to sign in the spring.
I caught that too. Compare a 7 footer to a combo guard? ha

Miller is hyping DD, saying him and Hugh are gonna force competition and bring the toughness we were lacking last year.
How come Hugh doesn't have an espn scouting profile?
I think he had some very intriguing things to say!
#1 We lacked "toughness" last year. Thinks DD can bring some of the scrappyness.(Word?)
#2 Thinks our BB-IQ last year wasnt good. Thinks both Hugh and DD can bring some of the IQ to the floor.
That Ryan guys a pretty good interview and just doesnt give you the standard PC answer. I appreciate that.

Toughness X2.... love it!! These guys will just grind it out and attack every single minute they are out there on the court. Can't wait till next season!

I concur...Miller tells it like it is and it's very refreshing.
The improvement from the addition of these 2/3 players will/should be much bigger than what they add individually. Synergy. They define the type of skill sets that make those around them better. DD is DD and Huge has been playing against some of the best MEN around the world for a while now. Huge's goal is to make it to the NBA but he knows what it's going to take to play high DI ball. No fooling himself there...he knows he's not just going to step foot on US soil and be a lottery pick. I think last year's team HAD good basketball IQ it just didn't play like it at times. When it did, we beat top 10 teams. When it didn't, we lost to Wyoming. Like I said in another post, I look up recruits on ESPN just to get an idea of who they are and how "good" they are. Though the numbers don't matter much, I really would like to know what Huge would have been. My guess is somewhere around a 91/92 given his high level of play against very good competition. DD should be around a 91/92 vs the 90 he is. Doesn't really matter one bit as they're both 100's now in Lobo uniforms.
BTW, anyone know who and what the highest ESPN rating was for a player? I have to imagine it was Lebron James who would have had to have been a 98 or 99 if not a perfect 100. Meaningless I know, but I'm curious.
For what it's worth, I find it HUGE that we were able to sign Huge instead of him going to St Mary's. St Mary's is a very established Australian pipeline with most if not all of their games broadcast in Australia. I'm sure Cam played a big role in letting Huge know what we have here but it still comes down to Miller & co making the deal.
What did Miller say when asked to compare Greenwood to Luc? I can't imagine what would be going through one's mind to ask that question. LOL

It's not that hard to compare the two.
1. They both speak with an Australian accent.
2. Ummm, Hugh's hair length is similar to Luc's when we was a Lobo.
3. Luc Longely is into surfing and Hugh wants to be a marine biologist so they both like water.
4. They both play basketball.
5. They're both male.
6. They both have 10 or more letters in their name.
Off the top of my head I came up with 6 guys. The similarities are creepy to say the least.

The highest rated players this year are 98. Greenwood played against the current #35 player (a "96"), the current #42 player (a "95"), the current #72 player (a "94") and the current #99 player (a "92") last April. Greenwood had 10 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 turnover in a 79-66 victory and was named to the all-tournament team (no US player was named to that team). So much for rankings.

So Cal Lobo, nice work looking up those stats, that's the first comparison of any sort I had seen. I shows that the Aussies handled a good US squad quite well and it makes Hugh's play even standout more. He is going to help next year and I think in a big way. Lady Ga Ga not so much in any way!
Alright jdmgsr (and NMStorm and Louiefan too): As far as Lady Gaga's music, fine if you don't like it, that's personal preference. I also happen to love Frank Sinatra's music, Pavaroti (saw him live), and many other types. Regardless of her antics, she has to have some talent to have made it as big as she has.
Now, the more important question as to whether she is hot or not. Taking away her crazy, pop-culture-inspired costumes, she is undeniably hot. Any red-blooded heterosexual male that is not blind can surely see that! Check out this video in its entirety, not only a great song, but c'mon guys...she IS hot!
