baseball and Conference Reallignment

I understand that conference reallignment is Football driven, however, as it stands right now the reallignment process has really had a positive affect for the lobo baseball team.

Sure we lost our biggest baseball rival in TCU, but we have gained Nevada and Fresno. Both top notch baseball schools.

And if this conference merger with CUSA does take, we could be in a even better place. A recent article on the great satan (ESPN) says the following:

"The football-only association would not affect the MWC and C-USA's status within the NCAA structure. But the leagues also will work on scheduling agreements for their other sports, including men's basketball."

Think about that last statement for a minute in terms of baseball. We could find ourselves playing a home and home series with SMU, RICE, ECU, and Houston. Add SDSU, UNM, Fresno, Nevada to that list and you have a top notch baseball conference.

Please God, let the Big East Die!
