Emphasis on major, I love soccer but college sports only has two major sports.

Yeah, Soccer is just a mid-major sport. but is it a low mid major or a high mid major..? ...that's what always gets me...

    sheeesh...

I'm pretty impressed with any team that has a shot at an NCAA championship. Seems pretty major to me!

I can hardly wait for that major win over... who is it? John Davidson U? Davenport?

I guess it's all how you choose to see things...

Easy Jefe, you won't get any orange slices or capri sun if you don't consider college soccer a major sport. Soccer was good for getting out of school in high school, that's about it. Thanks coach Allen

Soccer's popularity is rising every year in the U.S.
Thanks to the BCS, college football's populrity might be headed the other direction.

Um, how did you compute the number of hours? I believe the first game on the Lobos' schedule is Friday, November 11 - Univ of New Orleans, @ 7:00 pm MST. As of 1/2 hour from now, 1:00 pm MDT, October 22, there are 20 days + 7 hours (don't forget to "Fall back.") until that game. I come up with 487 hours. (I am not counting exhibition games, and neither do the NCAA, RPI, etc.)

So long as we don't identify it as an exhibition it counts as a game- just not in the RPI formula. UNO's situation is so strange that I am not sure what their classification is. They are going from Div 1 downward - not sure when that takes (has taken) effect.

Oh my bad I was counting the exhibition game since that is really our first game that we can attend. I was basing it on that although I did forget DST.

UNO has been on a roller coaster the last couple of years...Part of the issue was the hurricane several years ago, alot of it was just bad management and lack of interest in their sports...The were first going to go down to DIII, then they decided to go to DII. They are playing a freelance schedule of DI and DII schools this year. Next year they will be in a conference...I am not sure if they have any scholarships this year but starting next year they will have athletes on partial scholarships for basketball...I guess that is the kind of schools we get stuck with on the schedule to get a game this year with no promise of anything in the future..

the NCAA may not count exhibition games, but I do because those are the first opportunities I have to go to the Pit and jump up and down and scream and yell. That counts for something.

If that's your criterion, the Howl has already occurred.

Notice the plural use of opportunities. The howl was one opportunity (singular), the exhibition games provide more opportunities. (as well as a game atmosphere)
