It's the third video in the string. Not sure how to place a direct link to it.

Is it the video with Andy Katz, and they were discussing teams? Not much of a preview from that video.
GO LOBOS!!!

There's a short comment here -- http://espn.go.com/ncb/notebook/_/pa...tch1206/week-6. RH column under places to be -- Wednesday.
the PIT "has become" an equal to Viejas if not just a step below? How long has Viejas been around? and the PIT?
That comment got me so angry! I do my best to understand when our program gets slighted or disrespected by national media because of truly insightful analysis or just plain bias. I realize in the grand scheme of college bball, we don't rank with the storied programs. But digs on The PIT are really my last straw on Katz. Viejas has a few good years and a completely cheesy and over-hyped student section and all of a sudden they're best venue in the West? What's worse is that he makes it sound like WE'RE THE AMATEURS and that some fair-weather SDSU fans are a storied fanbase.
Don't know about y'all, but this Kat is starting to make murky look downright reasonable at times. What's worse about Katz is that he is so dismissive about our program. What did UNM/Alford do to this guy?

I don't think he was disrespecting UNM. In fact, it's so obvious to Katz and the college basketball world that the Pit is one of the best home-court advantages in the west or country that it goes without saying.
Katz is just impressed with the change of SDSU's home in the past couple of decades. He didn't say it was "the best home court in the country and west," he said "it has become one of the best home courts in the country not just the west..."
I think he's giving SDSU props... Not dissing the Pit. You are crazy if you think that SDSU doesn't have one of the best home courts in the country today. Of course they are band wagoners... Of course they don't have the history. But they do have a great arena and fan base NOW.
A puzzling comment by Katz, to be sure. I disagree with you that Katz generally disrespects our program, though. If anything, I feel like he goes out of his way to show us some love when no one else at ESPN will. That makes his odd and inaccurate comment about the Pit that much more confusing to me. Maybe he just misspoke or some intern wrote the copy he's reading. Not making excuses for him, and if it was a mistake, then it's on him. I just know that he has first hand knowledge of the glory of the Pit from when he was the Journal's beat writer for the Lobos, and he is well aware of its history. If he really thinks that Viejas is the gold standard of the MWC and the Pit has just recently become a comparable homecourt advantage, then he's demented. We'll see if the legion of apoplectic Lobos fans he's about to hear from prompts him to clarify that statement.
Lets see how storied the Viejas is in two years when Cal State Wackersfield comes to town, week in week out. 'The Show' will have no one left to impress except all 20 of them left in spandex...
Not even close... Your like our little brothers bring on the decibel readings and we can settle this argument real fast..

Cut him some slack. Katz has been Lobo basketball's only consistent advocate on the evil four letter network. -- Sent from my iPhone.
The Lobo Lair: It's how we roll!!!
I happen to be in California early last year and made the drive up to scalp some tickets and watch the BYU at SDSU game and Viejas is a nice arena but has nothing on the Pit. It only holds about 12,000 or so and the difference shows.
I would say the main difference is the fans. The fans at the Pit know when their teams need a boost and get loud at the right moments and the team feeds off that. The Viejas crowd seems to take a more wait and see approach and get loud after the team goes on a run etc.. Surprised Katz would go there and think the quote may have been mis-printed or something.
I think Andy's a little too enamored with the San Diego glitterati who showed up at the game, like the Big Red, er, White head, Bill Walton, and the kid Strasburg, from the baseball team.
So, I felt it necessary to remind him what was what. Here's what I wrote:
The PIT a step behind Viejas Arena? What are you, Andy? On drugs???
Yes, the Show is a great student section, but I remember being a Viejas just five years ago, and you could sit anywhere because the place was a ghost town.
No, as a former media scribe in the Duke City, you certainly know what a PIT game can sound like -- and I have no doubts Wednesday you're gonna a see and hear a PIT game on the same level as last year's against the Jimmers.
Bring your earplugs.
