Gary Parrish from CBS also tweeted with a note to NM fans saying we are finally in!
Wow.. HUGE drop for UNLV

I wonder if the TV ratings were decent? I think it was a good game and I hope that since CBS has the rights to MWC games that they show more of them next season. Could they possibly buy co-broadcast rights to the Vegas Invite finals?? (I doubt NBC Sports Network would just give up the rights entirely.)
Just another jackpot. Ain't nothing new.
And good to see three MWC teams in there. Some respect for the conference, expecting that San Diego State will be able to right the ship..
Just another jackpot. Ain't nothing new.
In Bilas' top 68 Rating we moved from 30 to 18! Can't post a link cause its a paid subscription though :(
Can't believe SDSU is still in there.
I believe a majority of the country saw UCLA, not Lobos so I don't think the ratings would really matter. We were stuck watching it online in Florida. I can't stand us being on national tv because those of us outside the regional area always get screwed. When I used to live in NM, I thought national games were awesome because I imagined the exposure. Unfortunately, it is not always the case. I've been in Florida for 10 years and have rarely seen them on "national" tv. I know most people hate The Mtn. but I love it because I'm guaranteed to see most games of the season.

UNM at 21
UNLV 22
SDSU 25
About what I expected. Nice 3 ranked MWC.
Mods; Please delete my other thread.
That's the CBS sports.com version of RPI, which still has Weebles, Gonzaga and St. Louis ahead of the Lobos. Boooooooo!
Oops. That was a comment about the torrez_s link before the threads were merged.
Just another jackpot. Ain't nothing new.

The Lobos were on in Bama too.
ESPN/Coaches and AP polls are followed more nationwide as ranking listing's and can't wait to see how that plays out tomorrow...

It was on in Kansas, but Wichita State's game started an hour before ours, then shortly after that one ended, KSU's started. During TV time outs, I would flip to the other games, but the intensity just wasn't there.
They were shown in San Antonio, TX as I got a text from one of my best friends about watching the game.
Here are their full rankings with comments. Still trying to jab Lobo fans with the comment on us. I guess they are saying we just became a good team this week all of a sudden.

Sorry but what a d*ck comment for them to put.
Wow..petty little jab there by the cbs writers...the Bo's have received votes on and off throughout the season. Maybe these guys are just dealing with a little digestive distress...![]()
IMO, we s/b ahead of indiana, Louisville and Virginia
I guess that just gives the players plenty of motivation for this week!![]()
We definitely should be ahead of Virginia, and probably Louisville. Indiana not so sure.Originally Posted by txlobo95

Yeah, I'm going to be Mr. Contrary. It's absolutely true that the Lobos have not deserved to be ranked until this past week. The *only* opportunities that the Lobos had to show they should be ranked were the first SDSU and UNLV games. And we blew those, including one at home and one in which we looked like we didn't belong on the court. I don't get upset that people are not impressed by the Lobos beating mediocre teams by big margins when we have nothing else to show them. Even though the Aztecs and Weebles lost to middle-of-the-pack teams we beat, they already had good wins to soften the blows to their reputations. We made the mistake of having a terrible loss (maybe two) before we had a chance to reach the polls. If we hadn't lost to Santa Clara and the Aggs in The Pit, we would have been ranked when we lost to the Aztecs and the Weebles and we probably would not have fallen out of the polls by losing to them.

Considering Indana just lost - yes - we should be ahead, IMO.

It was on in Houston where a friend of mine watched it. He couldn't believe we were not ranked. Remember this folks, this game was set up to showcase UNLV not us. We were supposed to be the food for the Weebles to feast on during a nationally televised game. We just forgot our role and upset their apple cart. Now they are having to cover their butts.
I watched from Oregon on CBS while working Saturday. What a game!
