    PIT fixes for next year

Sorry i'm in a bitchy post mood today.

Could you hear more than 2 words Coach Birmingham said on the big screen??

Even 15 min. pre-game, no crowd noise, can't hear half of what's said, all tho new nice little speakers around the rim,very8 feet,,,,,TURN EM UP.

the sound around the top/rim of the bowl is really, very bad.

ok, i'm done moaning, my bill came early.

Seems logical that you'd want to use big clusters at 25%, versus small speakers at 95-100%... just for quality purposes.

What the heck did the old pit have? We had zero exposed speakers two years before renovation and all was fine.

Then during the renovation those speakers were exposed and still no issues.

Is this strictly acoustics? Or did someone flip the wrong switch?

The Old Pit just had PA speakers.

They tried to upgrade with bigger, but they gave us crap.

They need to install this..... we can take up a collection! lol

    It's good in some areas.

    It's crap in some areas.

It's too damn loud in some areas.

Really need to increase the range of the speaker system in the arena, like Dogg posed above.

    Some other fixes:

    Fan System
    Handicap Parking
Credit Card Readers at Vendors (been getting better)
    Security Company

its well known that some of the budget had to be trimmed just to get the deal done...i just hope they cut back in areas that can be remedied fairly soon...not after another ten years or the next renovation...

They need to get rid of the current security company pronto. They have made a lady in her late sixities who sits behind raise her shirt when she enters the pit. Last game, she had to raise it twice because the first time wasnt high enough. They are over zealous, remeber the tv report they did on them a few weeks back? Allso, if we are so concerned about security, why are children just waived through? I f you wanted to smuggle something in, I guarentee you put whatever it is with the child and your good.

Last time they asked me to raise my shirt I agreed if they took me somewhere private. They then said go ahead and enter. Medical issues and privacy are issues for some of us.

They need to lower the price to the Lobo Level seats. 100.00 really????? With the economy the way it is we will only have a sell out if UNLV or STDSU are playing us. 50.00 max for a seat should be sufficient.

Sound system, sound system, and sound system.

Not a season ticket holder, so I usually bounce around from section to section at the games I attend.

It sounds different from every seat, and none of it is good. Senior night from my seat was an embarrassment. Couldn't make out a thing.

Also, food options seemed down this year.

And please fix the damn ADA parking situation!

This won't happen unless they enlarge the concourse. The original plans had it enlarged and we ended up with what we got cause we didn't get what we thought for $60 Mil.

Every time this issue has been brought up in the past it has been met with zero response from UNMSID (Frank M.). Usually he will chime in if there is any positive news on the horizon regarding UNM operational issues that are brought up on the Lair. I take his silence as a statement that UNM doesn't have any plans on fixing the audio issues or they are concerned that they can't fix them. In other words, they don't want to over promise and under perform. Don't get me wrong, this is in no way a slight against Frank. I think he is doing a heck of a job. I just think that not hearing from him on the issue is further proof that this is not a priority for UNM. I can't understand it...worst sound system EVER!

I haven't been in the refurbished pit so perhaps I shouldn't comment, but I went to a Bob Dylan Concert in Pan American Center in LC many years ago, and the sound system was so bad I couldn't make out the words of songs that I had memorized. Now that was a bad sound system.

You couldn't make out the words cause that was Bob Dylan himself. I went to one of his concerts here in Albuquerque about 2 years ago and I walked out after the 2nd song. He needs to quit touring.

High School gyms in town have better sound systems than the Pit. Trying to listen to the players after the game was tough.

Based on communication with Kosen, concourse does not need to be enlarged for SRO. I have communicated with Kosen and he said that SRO is in the works. A month and a half ago he said stay tuned...obviously didn't happen this year, but I believe that they could sell them if they wanted to without enlarging the concourse. I think they are just still trigger shy with this because of the alarm issues, etc. I bet we see SRO next year.

Sound system does suck. My only other complaint is that I would like to have the idiot and his family behind me banned from ever watching a live sporting event. He's always yelling at the players (Seats are a few rows from the top) . We can't decide whether he's a fan or if others teams pay him to come and heckle our players. His comments are rediculous, he's always "helping" our offense by reminding the players to MOVE AROUND and to DO IT ! I question his intentions because he's always telling AJ to shoot the ball. We don't need fans like that in the PIT.

Agree that the sound is terrible, but something else I'd like to see fixed is getting the banners back up somehow. I understand it has something to do with the ventilation system, but it would be nice to get our three recent conference championships recognized.

The speakers are bad, but I can't wrap my head around the fact that we can't get consistent audio levels. I understand that some games are louder than others, but it seems like the sound guy is always 10 seconds behind the curve with adjusting the levels. Nine times out of ten during pregame intros the sound guy cuts off 5-10 seconds of every video, or audio feature while trying to adjust the levels.

Just a suggestion, but maybe someone needs a cheat sheet of Db levels for various games. Starting a tad bit too loud is better than starting too quiet.

    Just my 2 cents.

LOL. I would be concerned if I could make out his words - then you know something is wrong with the sound.

Couldn't hear much from the opening act either. Although I cannot remember who they were, it was a group that I was familiar with and knew some of the songs. Of course, it's possible they brought their own systems and simply hadn't "tuned" them for the arena.
