    BREAKING NEWS Rockys Close to A Major Extension

    Talked to someone this morning that told me that Rocky and all of his Asst's will get pay raises. The source also told me that Rocky is finalizing a long term extension that will take him to retirement. Great news for all of our staff. This solidifies a great future for UNM.
    EDIT: I hear its a 10 year deal.

    Paying assistants a competitive salary has become paramount in college FB these days. IMHO, that's the best news out of this. Rock getting his due is great, as well, don't get me wrong. That's a big time show of confidence and pat on the back by the Admins.

    Absolutely fantastic news! Rocky deserves this and it's great to see UNM repay him for the loyalty he has shown to the University and for the success he's had over the years.

    Also great to hear the assistant coaches will see a bump in pay as well. Hopefully this will be another step towards a conference championship. Give Rocky the same means as the other schools and who knows what can happen. Now he has competitive pay for his assistants, a larger recruiting budget, an indoor practice facility, and hopefully some nice upgrades to the stadium coming up in the next couple of years.
