This team has me believing that they are not done, because they are so close, and because they want it very badly not for themselves, but for each other. They are a team in the truest sense of the word. They have their vocal leaders in KW and Jamal and DWalk, and their attitude leader in big Drew. After the debacle of McKay's screaming press conference and the complete disintegration of that year's team, the student athletes and the concept of team became my number one priorities for UNM, and there could not have been a better hire than Coach Alford to make this moment happen. These guys are a tight team because our staff made them that way. The bond these guys have for each other is obvious, and the love and respect for their coaches is as well. As a lifelong Lobo fan I know this is the time to stay even -- not too high, not too low -- but I really have the feeling that we -- for the first time since the KT era -- have all the pieces we need to make a deep run in the tourney...and the intangible we have this year is this team bond that seems to grow stronger every day.
