Not too bad. I'm a fan of the colored endzones.

I wish they would do the Lobo font for the numbers. I'd also like to see a different logo at midfield. I think the paw would look good. The intertwined UNM wouldn't look bad either. And I like the Lobo head that's been on there for the last few years

I like it. The color wraps around the sidelines, which is sharp. The logo in the middle will probably be plenty big, it just looks small on the photo.

Since the picture is posted, I think it's fair to render opinions. It's all in fun. I'm sure it's going to look great.

I think you are right about the logo not encroaching on the hash marks.

They could have used the helmet logo, since it is wider and shorter, and they would have had a bigger overall logo. I prefer that logo anyway, but we could argue all day about which logo is "better" -- everyone has an opinion. I only wish they used a logo that would maximize the space they are allowed to use. The shield logo does not.

Also, the picture does not show the "mowed look" that some have hinted to, with the alternating shades every 5 yards. I'm hoping they go with that look.

Other than that, I love the end zones and the red border around the field. I think it's going to make the field pop.

While I'm ranting about logos... they also could have gone with something like the LSU "eye" logo (maybe using the Lobo teeth?). My opinion is that logos should be simple, clean, unique, and cool-looking. You'll get much more impression from an interesting logo that is simple and easy to make out from a distance than anything else. They don't need a bunch of "information" that makes them too busy. That's been my problem with the shield logo for use on the helmets and why I've always preferred the side Lobo head or the paw logo. You can't really tell it's a Lobo face in the shield until you see it close up. Logos should catch the eye, draw the viewer in with a cool design that conveys something (clean, professional, edgy, tough, etc.), and leave them wanting more -- let them figure out who it belongs to. If you think about it, the coolest logos that have stood the test of time are almost always the simplest (the Apple logo, for example)...

I think the shield is the best overall logo we have, the key to it, is that we need it to be oversized in order to see the detail clearly. Something out of the norm like a ZIA would be awesome as well.

I like the shield, but I agree that maybe the sideshot of the Lobo head would have been better for midfield simply because it's aspect ratio would probably have allowed for a larger logo. But I think the shield will look good too.

Side view of the Lobo head like the one on the helmets would look much better than the shield logo and "Lobos" should be in one of the endzones IMO.

My problem with the helmet/side lobo lobo is that fans might confuse us with the Nevada Wolfpack and that the side Lobo was the prior logo we used when we had natural grass.(not the best of memories). Since the Davie era is supposed to signal a fresh start....i think it is best we wipe the slate clean and remove those symbols of bad memories. I wasn't impressed with how that looked in prior yrs and am glad we are changing.

At least the shield is unique and incorporates the Lobo name in it

I agree! I mentioned that on TRM yesterday and I think it would be cool incorporate the state boundary and/or Zia symbol somehow!

Obviously the official Lobo logo should take precedent but I think it is cool how TexasA@m has their state boundary painted on their bball court!

I love that logo. Simple and edgy.

My take for the football field dimensions would be to not use the state outline, but to widen the lobo snout and make it appear as if it is blended into the turf or maybe even ripping through it. Just my opinion -- even though nobody asked me for it....

I would prefer this over the shield though.

Again, disclaimer... it's going to look great anyway.

Note: you've probably never seen the "Wolf Pack" logo because it's their older logo. The first side view is their most current one.

The shield in the photo looks fairly small, but it's truly going to take up a lot of real estate. I looked up Texas and A&M's 50 and they only slightly bleed out of the parameters. Our logo is going to be truly "all logo"...stamped at the fifty.

Hell, if they can get away with it, bleed it out a little...like A&M does. (Granted, it's just a smidge)

If our logo is permanent, which i think it should be. The NM bowl will have to buy a logo to be sewn in over ours.

Texas Stadium has rolls of turf that they just lay out with new logos for college and high school games with the new hash marks on it.

Actually GiJoe Ray is right. They can paint it in as most do. Cowboy stadium may have rolls of turf to do this but really it's cheaper to wash and paint as most do. I've seen this done all over with this new stuff.

I noticed this picture doesn't have the MW logo on the field.

Some of the other school's boards and the MW board have mentioned that starting this year the schools can use their own colors with the MW logo on their fields and floors. They wanted to use the purple and silver for last year, since it was the first with the new logo.

Has anyone else heard this to be the case? Will we see the MW logo in cherry and silver? I really hope this is the case. That logo last year looked bad on the uniforms and fields.
