New Turf Pic

Anybody been by the stadium lately to see how the new turf is coming???


I want a picture!!!!

Last Sunday it was still dirt with bulldozers.

They found alot of electrical conduit under the field that had to be be moved to the outside of the new turf. This is the cause of the delay.

They are actually thinking about using the shield on the soon to be purchased , new basketball court.

I like the Pit floor with the Lobo head they have now. They should leave it alone.

Shield is busch league. Letters or side logo would have looked way better.

I too like the Zia and I like Loboman59's Zia and Lobo combined but the turquoise would need to be yellow like the state Zia emblem for me.

Yes, the MW logo can be Cherry and Silver. We will have pics once there is something to take a picture of, but everything is right on schedule. We also will be doing the time-lapse camera for all of it as well.

I think the shield is the best overall logo we have, the key to it, is that we need it to be oversized in order to see the detail clearly. Something out of the norm like a ZIA would be awesome as well.

To use the Zia, we would have to get permission from the Zia pueblo as they own the rights to the Zia symbol. That probably would have come at a cost. Not sure UNM would want to spend money on that.

I think the field is going to look sharp! I love the shield logo. I am not crazy about the endzones but that is ok.

Are they painting all the isles RED now? If so... good for UNM! I've always thought that UNM should use more Cherry Red in and around the stadium to make the place pop, like the isles and the walls at the walk ways that separate the upper and lower sections of the stadium, that would be more visually apealing imo.

Went by the pit to pay for my BB tickets and walked over to the football complex. The turf is being installed they started on the north end and moving south. The final product is going to be GREAT !!!! They had approx 30 yards installed and the alternating green colors looks fantastic..the red end zone is RED....I was going to take a pic but felt I should hold off so UNM could post a pic or two....

The colors should darken a bit when they add the rubber compound base. The first part of installation is basically nailing the faux grass to the floor. When its all puzzled together, the rubber pellets come.
