Gerina Piller
A name to watch out for on the LPGA Tour. A native of Roswell, NM.
Had a round of -6 going today, until she double bogied #17 and fell back to 6th place. In contention for the "Major" title until the 2nd to last hole. 6th place in a major is no easy feat.

Anyone notice her 281 yard AVERAGE drive in today's final round? They were joking that she hits it further than her husband who was on the PGA Tour. That's a very high average for a female golfer.
BTW, Nancy Lopez was here in Dallas recently for some type of award. I don't remember what, but it was a very select group of persons receiving awards.

She shot 1 over yesterday in the US Women's Open...tied for 5th after 1st round.

Gerina comes from a great family in Roswell. Her moms family is the Garcia family. She had a cousin play basketball for Utep in the early 90s. Thomas McKnight was his name.
