Be careful with what you post...I've already had two posts deleted for saying anything about Kentucky recruiting.
--Stand TALL or don't stand at all

John Calipari is a douche. He is a snake oil salesman with hefty financial backing. He definitely gets his players to the pros but thats all. No character development, no concerns about grades (regardless of what you might hear) when it comes to his "one and dones," and his past speaks for itself...he has always committed violations. Having said that, he wins and thats what counts to the powers that be.

Such a grey area. There is obviously a HUGE problem and coaches that don't participate struggle to varying degrees. Maybe I'm biased about the hiring AAU coaches, but if I'm a college coach, I'm probably not hiring an electrician as my asst coach/recruiter. Hire the people that can...recruit. The grey area is obviuosly the cart and the horse issue. Are you hring him to recruit kids or did you hire him because you got certain kids.
Schools like UNM would be huge beneficiaries if the NCAA got things under control. It's very sad that there seems to be 0% chance of that actually happening. Fix one leak and new ones will pop up...and this is not a small leak.

its a game of whack-a-mole
When you insinuate that a recruit of ours will go to another school because he's getting paid will not be tolerated. Especially when you know his family visits this site regularly. This site is not intended to be a detriment against recruiting but I really thought this was sort of known.

the problem could be reduced (although not done away with) if the NBA would set up a minor league system similar to baeball's, and having a draft eligibility rule like baseball's. A player can be drafted:
1) Out of HS;
2) Affter JC; OR
3) After three years of college. (Could make it two years instead)
The kids who aren't at all interested in school can get their money honestly up front.

It is totally known. There is no grey area around this either.
Let's ring in the new Lair without all this nonsense. Mark works his a$$ off and provides this site without a lot of strings. But one of the non-negotiables is don't make it so this site makes it harder for UNM coaches to do their job.
It really is simple.

I think Mrs. Gordon said it best. Here's a quote from her a year or two ago.
We came from a program that absolutely “ate their young” on associated websites. The commentary was vicious, and most of it was absolute BS; mean spirited attacks full of hearsay and fabricated facts, posted by people who claimed to “know things” or have insider information that they absolutely did not have. And that was when the team won. Such behavior is detrimental to the school, disrespectful to the players who give everything to the program and does negatively affect recruiting. It’s encouraged because it sells.
We love enthusiastic fans who are passionate about winning and losing. But believe me; the players don’t need to read message boards to know exactly what kind of game they had. They are harder on themselves than any of you are in your analysis. We all do appreciate the positive, supportive tone that pervades this site and the program in general. It is uncommon, and a great reflection of the UNM basketball community.
