ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- University of New Mexico football coach Bob Davie has issued the following statement concerning senior quarterback B.R. Holbrook.
"B.R. has been diagnosed with chest inflammation," Davie said before Friday’s practice in Ruidoso. “He has been put on an anti-inflammatory medicine and he will return to the field when medically cleared."
A timetable for his return has not yet been determined.
Holbrook missed practice Tuesday and Wednesday in Ruidoso because of a shortness of breath and discomfort in the chest. He returned to Albuquerque and underwent tests at UNM Hospital on Thursday.

Whew...Get well soon Holbrook!!!![]()
chest inflamation is not a diagnosis, it is a symptom. What caused the inflamation? Is it an injury to lungs or muscle tissue or heart?

Could even be allergies... I would not be concerned.. This to shall pass..

Have some faith that the medical professionals can handle it, even if we don't know - and aren't entitled to - all the details.
Get well, BR.

it can be caused by a cold....running too hard....allergies.... just about anything. Glad he is OK.

What's the latest?
I wonder if the elevation could played into it? I bet he will be ready to go by the first game.

Unless the cause of the inflamation is something serious....I bet we see him back in under 2 weeks (from the time of the diagnosis).
If it was in ruidoso then I bet it was elevation sickness related. Hmmm
Doubt it since it was his 3rd camp there plus games in 7200' Laramie Wyo.
