They had a horrible schedule last year too but they won quite a few in the OOC and had a decent RPI. If they manage to go 14-1 they will be alright.

They play UC Santa Barbara home and home. What's with that? Looks like a poor schedule to me. Might not even get them into the NIT.

Shyatt expects to have a very young and inexperienced team. He scheduled to build confidence more than any thing else. He is trying to build a program there. A little confidence before the conference battles/thrashings will help for next year.

That's an incredibly weak schedule. They should come into conference play with a lot of confidence and a good record. How that pans out remains to be seen.

Looks like they might have had some trouble filling up the schedule since they're playing Santa Barbara twice--both home and away.

This is the first game in seven years that UNM doesn't play in Laramie on a Saturday, and the first time in a few years they haven't started or ended the conference season in Wyo. Makes for a rough road trip (even from Denver) at the end of January, especially driving up there at night and you never know what the weather will be like.
