Depth chart

Does anyone have any insight on our 2deep depth chart or a prognosis?

A depth chart is shown in the new Media guide on the official Lobo web-site. I imagine it will change game to game.

Just a hunch, but I don't think a dpeth chart is going to mean much with this coach, or this squad.....I expect a lot of fluidity this year, until our strengths and weaknesses become well defined.

I'm no expert, but I think most of us would agree that we have limited depth on the offensive line as well as the secondary. We have a few play makers, but depth wise, we are not where we should be.

I agree, depth in the lines is our biggest concern right now. My opinion might change after next Saturday, but that is what I see at issue right now.

I am also concerned about our first few tough games. It is easy to come away with some injuries when severly overmatched. :-)

Jaguar, it might be more accurate to say we're short of experience. Look at the offensive line two-deep. Good size, and in fact most of these kids are considered pretty competent. The just don't have a lot of D1 snaps. Heh, starting a true freshman, talented, but he ain't been there before. Same issue in the secondary. Got some kids who show flashes, but not enough snaps to develop yet.

That said, if we can survive the first month, we're probably going to be all right. Youth will develop and we're going to get to see some pretty good teams and technique up close....surviving them is the issue.

Key to our game with you may very well be O-lines vs D-lines. Our D-line is going to be pretty good. It sounds as if you'll need to pass on us; can you get pass protection? We need to run; can we nail the blocks to open up the option? Look forward to it.

We have depth.....thought our starting lineups was our depth chart.

Offensively, my projected two deep looked very similar. I had Aho ahead of Biren at TE, and Magnant as the back up Z guy and Bundy as the back up X. I also had moved McCown ahead of Gautsche. Otherwise the two deep was exactly the same.

Defensively, I had Ulale backing up Ugo, Caro starting at SS, Merritt backing him up, and one of the Jackson twins behind Mills at corner. The rest is the same.
