Students: Who is interested to ride down with other students on a bus, share hotel rooms, and go cheer on the Men and Lady Lobos in Vegas over spring break with the rest of the Lobo fans at Pit West

Yeah - I'd be interested but only if the MWC tourney isn't during class time.

It's over spring break
Cool. Last season if I remember correctly it was the week before SB. Yeah I'd be down.
Good job guys! Last yr SDSU and even Boise St had a good contingent of students.
UNM had students but they weren't organized. Most of them bought tickets on their own and were scattered like most Lobo fans were
What ever you guys decide....get your reservations quick. The PAC12 and WAC are competing with the MWC for accommodations. I already booked my own reservations for the Luxor and have my flight scheduled already. I am only waiting to order tickets and deciding which school to buy them from.
Here are some tips for you guys:
Sponsors: Try and hustle sponsors to help make packages affordable for students. Discounts on bus fares, hotels, and tickets depend on sponsors. They can also help promote the event plans
BUS: Work with LOBOCLUB or even the Tix for Kids(bobby) to secure affordable packages. If buses aren't feasible, carpool or caravanning to Vegas could work too. But if you guys can get 50+ students to commit, buses could work.
HOTEL: I recommend Excalibur or the Luxor as a cheap/enjoyable location with youth appeal. I think rooms there go for $40 a night with the weekends obviously much higher. Ask the locations if they will give you guys a group rate. IF you can get 2 or 4 in share a room, it is easily affordable.
Tickets: Most of the lower level are reserved for each school's general population. If the donors don't get the majority of them, surely the adults paying market price will scoop them uo quickly as they tend to go ilke hotcakes. Generally they require all-session passes going for $180+. Sad that there isn't room for students in the lower level but it is what it is
If I were the students, I would try to ask the MWC for a group rate in the upper level ABOVE the Lobo fan Section.
NEW LOBO ORDER
WE ARE NEW MEXICO
I am interested as well. More info would be great, maybe we can get this thing priced out and it would help out some of us students to decide if we can go or not

We approached Marketing rep in Athletics today and she was going to ask around and we also called the Lobo Club today and left a message so hopefully later this week will get some more info.
Thanks SpanaBaller especially for room recommendations.
Its not embarassing, the leauge has designed it that way. It is extremely hard to get tickets for rebel fans. We sold out the last game before the MWC, against Wyo. We averaged over 16,000 for leauge, so to say that fans wouldnt go to the tourney if tix were available is not looking at why. The leauge has done everything they could to eliminate UNLV having any advantage playing in Vegas. Some of your fans cried the loudest about how unfair it is, then when the leauge takes measures to keep UNLV fans from dominating attendance at the games, you start bashing and calling us embarassing. If you want to think on an even level, with tickets avail. on first come first serve, that UNM or anyone else could bring more to the homecourt of UNLV than our own fans, then you are not looking closely. The leauge has done everything they could to make this fair for everyone, and it has become a neutral court as much as it can possibly be while still being at the T&M. The result, is very few rebel fans by design, and a huge Lobo crowd is a testament to a great fanbase.
What a load of BS
If you look at the seating charts, every MWC school has the same allottment of all-session tickets. Some schools sell more than others. UNM usually sells out our allottment fairly quickly. We then go to the ticket office of other institution and buy their tickets one by one. Rebel fan are NOT given less tickets by the MWC or banned from buying from other schools ticket office.
In fact UNLV has an advantage as on march 1 they are the only ticket office that is given single-session tickets. If you are a fan from another MWC school, if you want single-session tickets you must visit/call UNLV first.

UNLV's advantage is they incur very little in travel expenses compared to "real" fans who travel and support their team. They don't need to book a hotel or a flight. UNLV fans only effort is buying a ticket and that isn't any more difficult that what the rest of the us have to do. In fact it is EASIER for them.
That being said.....UNLV's advantage in terms of player advantage is minimal. And Las Vegas is by far the most ideal place to hold a tournament. So you won't hear me complain. The tournament uses a different court and they don't utilize the pyros. And obviously UNLV's fan will NEVER outnumber UNM regardless of where we play.
That point I was trying to make was UNLV's fans don't support their team on the same level as UNM.
That is just a fact. Hell UNLV didn't have a organized student section until last yr's Rebellion version.

An you best believe UNM is bringing the students this year!

The other thing, does anybody know if the MW does group rate pricing for single session tickets in the upper bowl for tournament? I'm trying to have a bunch of options as price points go, for tickets, hotel, and bus accomodations

Sorry about the delay. I'm making sure the flyer is up to code with the right Lobo fonts etc. I was told today that the Lobo Club will have final pricing of bus trip next week. I'm going to advertise the flyer with an amount slightly higher than estimates including hotel rooms that way as we get closer and the hotel rates go up a little bit we will have already accounted for that.
