Maryland thinking ahead for all those big wins haha

10k fans? LoL
They have a better chance that the USA citizen will rush Washington DC than fans rushing the goals.
I've aired my grievances against Locksley here, so you know I'm no sympathizer. But we gotta let things go: Obsessing over an ex-coach is unbecoming of a great fan base.
We should let it go and we will soon, but it is human nature to feel the way a lot of us do. We almost lost the future of our great Lobo sports program because football rules. If we could not find someone to turn it around, you can't convince me that Coach Alford would have stayed for too many more years. All of the other sports are top notch and now with football on the rise in a few years. we should not be on the bottom of the heap in future realignments, The last few years will be a postscript, but we are healing now and getting it out of our systems. We will let it go. Just let us gloat for a little while longer.![]()

I don't know. I think a lot if us are starting to sound like Iowa fan. Next thing you know some of you will start going on the Maryland board to bash Locksley. I really hope no one does that.
I wouldn't do that and I hope none of us would do that either. I think the Locksley bashing is better than it was and it will die out soon with each win.

It will hopefully die out. It is a poor reflection on Lobo fans.

Are hydraulic goalposts akin to the phantom third digit?
I say, we never forget locksley. "those who forget history are destined to repeat it"
besides, it makes us appreciate a successful coach, even more.
The problem with Locksley was, not only was he bad, he was bad at the worst possible time....where would be as a school if we had hired Davie 4 years ago?
Sorry Datil but it is going to take some time before most of us can move on. I think we are entitled to a little gloating when Maryland sinks.
EML
May he lose the rest of his games by 50ppg.
And. I. Will. Laugh.
There is a good contingent of the CFB world that continues to poke fun at Locksley for the mess he created...is was after all pretty damn bad. Personally, I don't think fans of this program are out of line when posting a few negative articles or taking a jab here and there.

It's curious to me that these pop-psychology pablums drift over into the world of Lobo sports. "Get over it" "Obsessions"
First, OCD is very difficult disorder. My guess is nobody here in simply expressing their frustration over the past disaster to our beloved program is actually "obsessive." None are immoral or likely to fail at life since they continue to carry this "burden". This is a sports message board, not a 12-step program.
Example. Pit Boss tells us that it's a poor reflection on Lobo fans. For the life of me I can't figure out who is making that judgement. Could it be that he's the judge? Outside of those who pile on when the "let it go" mantra is sounded on these boards, my guess is nobody much cares.
It's neither a psychological or moral issue. You are not a pariah if you tie your angst to a name or names. Iowa fans frustrated and angry with Alford are probably good folks like us who had their reasons. It was time for them to part ways and I'm damn glad they did so he would come here.
If it were an issue of lost love, lost job, or lost loved one, and it was leading to depression or inability to cope with life, it might be different.. This just ain't the same! Davie is good for many things including showing us what might have been. That may be the good reason the name (or should we use 666?) is spoken.
Think about it.
One thing about last year.... it was the first time for me since I graduated in 1991 that I flat out was becoming disinterested in the product being put out on the field (and we've had some bad teams during that time). As we are seeing, there was a lot that you could pin on the coaches for not putting the kids in a position to win (that or the kids just didn't respond to how they were being coached).
Not bashing, just glad we've moved on from that mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Screw Locks. I'm going to keep gloating over every Maryland failure until they fire him and he becomes a positional coach at Dematha High School. And if Dematha gets beat for their homecoming game, I'll probably still gloat.

An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies & ego. The other is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy & truth."
The boy thought about it, and asked, "Grandfather, which wolf wins?"
The old man quietly replied, "The one you feed."
Peace,
Pitboss
The wise old Cherokee leader never had to watch a 3-33 football team and the worst college coach in modern history.
In all seriousness, this is all tongue and cheek guys. I could care less about Michael Locksley. I don't watch Maryland football and I could care less about him or the kids that used to play here that are now Juco superstars. Although I did chuckle when I saw the William and Mary box score.

But what will you do if Locks succeeds? After all, he was a successful coordinator before he came here. That's the only way he got this job in the first place. Maryland scored 21 points against the #8 team in the nation with a true freshman QB who wasn't expected to play this year until the starter was knocked out with a season ending injury. Sorry PTR, but Locks did ok in this one. He just may end up being in the same category as Norv Turner, Mike Martz, Jim Haslett, and Greg Williams and countless others, good coordinators who were horrible head coaches.
You're going to end up a bitter old man if you're just sitting back waiting for people to fail. You shouldn't care about Maryland football at all. You should just care that Locks isn't here anymore , PERIOD. Whether he succeeds or fails now has nothing to do with UNM football. Whether coach Davie succeeds or fails has everything to do with UNM football, and that's where I choose to focus my energy. I wish others would do the same.
