Feel a little bad for Coach seeing less than 1k at Pauley Pavilion. He has an uphill battle for sure.
Noodles is primed to get this program to the next level! Im ready for hoops!
Yeah, same here. Checking it out with an empty Pauley, kinda sad...but now he realizes he is no longer the Big Fish in the pond...very little response to his video intro by the small crowd. Also funny ....they turned out the lights for the intro...and now cant get them turned back on....been out about 10 minutes!! On a good note....the announcers are giving alot of props to Bryce.
Also funny....the commentators making the joke that Alford did this on purpose...in hopes that by delaying the tipoff....more people may show up hahahaha
He made his bed...

Wow....and there's probably less than 1K LEFT for this first exhibition game at the Pit!
Alford (hopefully) knew what he was getting into there. Not just an uphill battle in terms of the program but a hyper-bitter, unsupportive fan base and sport writers so nasty they make Mark "Turd" Smith seem like Mr. Rogers - won't you be MY neighbor.
Like was said previously, he made his bed. Noodles battled for this gig and we're happy to have someone who genuinely wants to be here.
WE ARE NEW MEXICO
I do feel for him. He put UNM back on the map. As much as it burned me that he left, as a coach myself, I do get the pull of a different challenge. Don't get me wrong, I never wanted him to leave UNM, and I really think he made a HUGE career mistake, but I understand what might have gone through his head.
That said, I think he may have reached his ceiling at UNM, and I have great hope and great confidence that Noodles' ceiling is MUCH higher.
I wish Alford well at UCLA, but I BELIEVE Craig Neal is about to take UNM to places we've only dreamed of.

Bryce now in the game! Hope well for Bryce 19-13 bruins
Alford is a great coach. If UCLA treats him like this and he wins there.....
When some other big dog comes calling Alfo rd will drop the bruins like a bad habit.
For me, the Lobos will light it up and we will see our first deep run and all will be well in the kingdom
He had quite the plum job at UNM. That seat at UCLA can get hot very quickly. UNM will be fine. Less certainty for him.
Bryce scores his 1st points as a Bruin on a running layup
Rooting for Bryce here.
This Pac 12 feed makes Aggie Vision look like ESPN..
I didn't think I would be interested in UCLA basketball, but I'm finding myself drawn to follow them. I guess I'm comfortable watching Alford's team play.
Still not sure if I want to root for them or against them though.
I'm all for Bryce doing great. He is a great kid .
I'm also all about watching Cullen. Light it up even more
Im rooting fort Bryce! I have nothing against the kid. In fact, his intro called Albuquerque his hometown. I thought that was pretty cool of him!
At Bruin Nation, they call him TRA, The Rape Apologist. They considered Gyorgy a second class sign. They rail on "TRA" for talking too much about Knight and for not showing proper fealty to Wooden. They are over the top with their negativity, but it only goes to show what Alford is up against.
I feel bad for Bryce because a lot of that pressure will come down on him. As a Lobo, he would have been a local kid, given patience and time to develop. At Westwood every missed shot will be proof that he isn't worthy, every perceived failure of the team will fall on him as hard as on his father. He'll have to over-achieve just to pass muster. Hope he's ready for that burden.
They also rag on NM at BN, and it is sort of funny. They denigrate us yet can't get their arena half full, while we get 10K for an intro practice. They are "too cool" to actually show up, then look down their noses at us. They are still riding a Wooden high that ended forty years ago, and they won't let go, and won't let any coach have a real chance. Gonna be a tough road for the Alfords.
I will root for Bryce as well, I hope he gets a lot of PT
WE ARE NEW MEXICO
He's still been saying that they are going to play "fast", which isn't his style. Who is he trying to kid?
Not a pretty debut game so far.
Those guys at BN are NOT Bryce fans ..and they are ripping him on the game thread pretty good tonight. I do feel bad for him.
42-39 Bruins over San Bernardino at half. Bruins lose this and ... oh boy...
There might be more Lobo fans in Albuquerque watching this stream than Bruin fans at the game. LOL.
UCLA is getting a really good recruit tomorrow. Not a good time to lose a game especially to that team, plus I hear another PP article is coming out. Really, that is getting crazy the amount of run they are getting out of the PP story.
Im just thankful Noodles is running the show. He's really taken ownership of this program and gone about things the right way. Good for Noodles!
Lots of their fans are lamenting the lack of a PG. Tough go for Alfie without Kendall and Hugh.
