    Who has DirecTv here?

Well being as im out in phoenix, I need direct to watch my bos. I currently have cox (cable internet ) and I just need to know what internet service everyone uses if they have direct. Qwest DSL is out here, but they dont have the new fiber optic hookups (12mbps) they only offer up to 3 mbps right now...will my call of duty 4 online play have a huge setback running 3mbps? I think right now cox is around 7-12 mbps.

I had to bite the bullet and stick with comcast (same as cox) for my internet. Its more pricey but worth it. DTV is the shhhheeet!

So you can run cox internet with directtv? I had no idea. Also rps...did you have to sign a 24 month lease for getting Directv? Couple buddies and I are signing a year lease on a new house, but website says I need a 24 month agreement....I cant afford the cancellation costs because who knows what could happen after the lease is up...im kinda pissed

Yes we had to sign a 2 year deal but it blows away anything cable has to offer EXCEPT ondemand. I love watching entourage whenever I wanted!

You sound alot like me before I made the big switch but trust me, its well worth it and I dont think I could ever go back now. Your not going to want to cancel. If you cant afford it in that 2 months then just bump your service down to like the 24$ per month price. I think im on the 70$ plan and I basically get every channel but the showtimes etc (i get HBOs), I get the whole sports package but not the baseball package and all HD channels and programming... ESPNS (like 7 of them) and many others for like 70 bucks a month and thats including 3 basic receivers and 1 HD box. You can basically can go from like a 24$ dollar a month bill to like 110 too 54$ etc. I think you get my drift.

This is what I did to get a really sick plan. The installers never came on the day they said they were and then they tried to stand we up the next day (not DTV's fault) so I was VERY pissed and let them know about it. Before you know it they were throwing free programming at me left and right but I was stubborn and kept telling them I wanted to cancel. Well, they swayed me after 45mins but im so glad they did. When you can to get service keep playing coy. Act like you not sure and tell them how youve been with cox for the past 10 years and how they offer you this and that (they dont know what they can can and can't offer) and that it still sounds like too much but you know you want X and B and A programming. They will give you what you want for the price you want, trust me. The economy is hurting them too. Never go for the first offer when ordering! :)

You ask how I know this? Well, when I called to get info the first time I really had zero intentions on buying that day I just wanted to find out how much I can expect to pay in the near future etc. So I kept telling them no and they kept telling me less $$. Thats how I was sold!

I use the comcast for my internet like I said and pay like 50$. I cant stand a slow connection! Yes, you can have both.
