I read this yesterday and it infuriated me. How does someone like that not plan for the future with that amount of income? How do they not plan to provide for themselves and their families? This world is all about instant gratification and screw the future and everyone else. Half a billion dollars between three athletes? That's the annual budget of a small country!

Investing just a small percentage of those earnings in something that accrues a decent interest rate or pays a decent dividend would have provided a modest (by their standards) but functional hedge. Originally Posted by loborick

Hardly anything surprises me with pro athletes today. If your dumb enough to blow thru 200 mil, extreme medical hardships aside, and not think about the future well then your just dumb. NO EXCUSES!!!!
