ACL, surgery TBA...will not seek a medical hardship. Surprised that guy that is always on here talking about Emily didn't share the news.

Maybe that's because Dave has common sense and was smart and respectful enough to let the coaches and player decide when it is appropriate to disclose personal medical information.

I pray that Emily will have the best possible outcome from her surgery and rehab etc.
“My friends,” Dr. King said in his Detroit sermon, “all I’m trying to say is that if we are to go forward today, we’ve got to go back and rediscover some mighty precious values that we’ve left behind. That’s the only way that we would be able to make of our world a better world, and to make of this world what God wants it to be. . . .”

Our hearts go out to you Emily. Many many athletes have come back from an injury like this and have not just
thrived but have become even better than before. Thanks for what you have done already!

Oh please!! I have too much love and respect for Emily and our other athletes to disclose personal information. That is not my place. It is up to the player and coaches. Additionally, my family is still recovering from this disheartening news.

We should all just rally around a young lady that always wears a smile as she takes on her various challenges. While this news is no doubt difficult for her at present, I have confidence that she will overcome the injury and be back to delivering three pointers at a higher clip than all others. Considering 0-19 against UNLV, the team sure could have used Emily's .438 three-point skill last night.

Devan, my son and Emily's inherited little brother, asked to get her a get well card as soon as he learned the news. Sometimes our children simply have more common sense than do the adults. And, that is news that I don't mind sharing.

Emily, we love you and will miss you on the court until you return.

Wishing you a successful surgery, Emily. Hoping all works out well and we get to see you play next year. I am sure you will use your time to work on your classes and future goals. All the best to you and the Lines Family.

Women’s basketball: Lobos lose Lines for season to ACL tear

By Ken Sickenger / Journal Staff Writer

    Saturday, January 14th, 2017 at 12:02am

"Emily Lines will miss the rest of the season with a torn right ACL. Lines suffered the injury last week in practice in a non-contact situation and missed UNM’s last two games. Lines appeared in nine games, averaging 2.9 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest. Her 3-point shooting percentage (43.8) is the best among the team’s regulars."

I have passed all of your posts along to Emily. Each and every prayer and positive message are much appreciated by Emily and our family. She will approach the prehab, surgery and long road back the same way she approaches everything... with boundless optimism and hard work.

Again... thank you all for your encouraging words.

    Go Lobos!!!
