will this be Birmingham's worst hitting team...pitchers have done mostly pretty well but getting very little help...

Louis pitches 7 innings of 1 run ball and has the only 2 hits. Kid is a stud. Need the other guys to step up.

3 tight games. Collier getting thrown out on the tag up going to 3rd cost them in game 1. Game 2 was their's to lose and they did. Game 3 they ran into Cy Young I guess. 14 Ks and no walks. Louis was the only guy to get on base and he can't really steal while pitching.

I still think this is a really good team. Remember - going into this 5 game stretch they were 2nd in the nation in batting average.

Three really good pitching performances by Harrington, Stevens, and Gonzales were wasted by hitting that, I think, cannot get any worse.
The team was shutout 3 times, averaged only 4 hits per game on the 5 game road trip, struck out a lot, and averaged hitting .134 as a team. Two batters who were hitting over .400 going in did not get a hit in 5 straight games. Hitting guru Birmingham better get to work if he wants to get anywhere close to Omaha. Sad, but true. Go Lobos!
