Sam Logwood tells me he is returning to New Mexico next season. Huge news for the Lobos. Was considering a transfer.

It will be very interesting to see how he is used. Will he play with more confidence and improve his dribbling? Coaching may have been a big issue for him.

Logwood, Simon, Hunter, Kuiper and MACDOUGALL are a formidable MW lineup. If we can land a scorer at the 4 who can take up Williams' scoring, Lobos would be in really good shape.

I posted this on another Logwood thread, but Sam also confirms this on Twitter, so it appears to be accurate.

Where is Jefferson in this lineup?

Jefferson is given: But we don't have a consistent inside scorer.

Neal left the pieces for a good team. All that's needed is cohesion and a couple more scorers.

Thats a team that can run, play physical, and score the ball. Jefferson would be your sixth man, and play the two when Simon plays PG. I like it. Curious to see whom else is added.

    Roster is taking shape.

Gotta think Combs starts at the 4 if he signs. I was holding out hope that they were announcing him and Simons on different days so they each get their day in the sun.

Logwood has always had some kinda funny hitch in his shot. Hopefully Weir can help to fix that. I really like his athleticism tho. Welcome back, Sam!

Mcdougle will be the inside scorer that we need, all he needs is a chance to play through a few issues and he will be a solid inside player. My guess, he will be the most improved player next year.

His issue is that he picks up 3 fouls quicker than Andrew Bogut gets hurt when he signs with a new team

He's still a good shot with the hitch....open, on balance shots are what he needs. Led the team in three percentage (or darn near) two years in a row. Trick with Sam is to minimize the dribble/drive.

I don't mind it aside from McDougall. He's the best big I guess, but I wouldn't call him formidable right now. We need another inside threat aside from the ones we have.

Sam can shoot the three, especially the corner three. He just needs to take the darn shot. His shooting percentages have no value from last season as he took 25 threes in 672 minutes. I would be happy with 35% out of him if he took 100 threes. He would provide more value to the team as a stretch 4 who will take the open three than one that other teams don't guard at the three point line because they know he wont take it. I don't know if the coach told him not to shoot but it was obvious our opponents knew he wouldn't.

Combs in his second year at North Texas had a 18.4% Total Rebounding rate (that is a crazy number) and averaged 10.5 a game. He can be an elite rebounder like we have not had in a long time, and Benford said he gets rebounds he has no business getting in the video for him.

But has Lee Faria confirmed any of this. I don't believe anything unless Lee says it is so!!!! lol

Guess all that is really lacking is Coach Weir confirmation.

Regardless - I hope this is a 100% buy-in regardless of whether Logwood starts or not. All-in or move on.

If 100% all in on both player and coach - then, I am happy to see the young man get another opportunity to give us what he's got.
