Definitely one of the more asinine arguments that Neal made last year. It's amazing to see the energy that Weir is bringing to the table.

It’s just a completely different program. Do you know how refreshing it is to see young men playing without reigns? Seeing a coach get the most out of athleticism? Guys taking pride in hustle? Young men pumping fists for causing turnovers? Guys on the bench waving towels? It is what I have waited for as a fan for years, win or lose!!! love it!!

It was fun at first, but this is starting to get stale. Are we going to do this after every game?

Why not? Stale is what the 4 years of noodle ball was. Watching this team has been more refreshing than I could ever ask for.

Up 25, lobos diving at loose balls. Lobo bench clapping and into the game. Simons has a big dunk. Truly one of the fondest joyest memories over the past 3-4 seasons. Almost brought a tear to my eye. 13k strong in the pit cheering this crew on is a sczry thought.

It's just so refreshing to see how this team plays and what they do. I always thought it couldn't be too hard to play your butt off, but it still makes you appreciate when you see it. I see hustle non-stop and zero egos out there.

Let's beat the hated ones from down south on Friday!

Weir quickly making his predecessor look foolish on the effort front.

I'm extremely happy for Logwood and the one's who stayed of course, but primarily Logwood. We ripped that guy the last few seasons, but he looks perfect for this system.

    I'm with you Sam.

The winning part or the joy in not having a self centered coach that does not argue with his players for half the game?

It's not so much that he coaches effort as it is that it's just expected, it goes without saying. It's what you do in Lobo Basketball. Hence the "Believe or Leave." It's all part of a bigger picture, built on effort and intensity at both ends of the floor.

Self centered? I don't think that's the case at all. He wasn't a good head coach, but I think his heart was in the right place.

I guess I just like to move on. Some like to focus on our past coaches. Locksley and Alford in particular were regular thread topics in their post Lobo careers. I guess I shouldn't expect things to be different with Neal. I just choose to focus on our current coach, but that's me.

Probably not all year, but expect this for most of pre-conference play. Especially if we keep playing like this.

For those of you missing out...... YOU NEED TO GO TO A GAME! This team is amazing to see live and in the flesh! This is the 3rd time seeing them and they just get better every time. I leave the PIT knowing that I have gotten my monies worth!!!

Sheer effort alone we will beat just about anyone at home. I am just excited about this team. I have to talked to each and every one of them and they are even more excited if that's even possible.

The attendance was weak tonight. No excuses from here on out. They are doing their part. It is time to return the favor. It is sure fun watching this style of Lobo basketball. Basically a track meet meets nascar type of basketball!

    Go Lobos!

here are my way too early thoughts...

In the first half when they weren't tired and had that 6'8" kid who could handle the ball and break our press all I could think is: Really good guards are going to kill us if we press every possession like this. but I also want to be patient because i know the goal is to be relentless so giving up fast break points in the first half could be fools gold for some of these teams.

In the 2nd half two things happened. They got tired and their big guy who was killing us got hurt.

Either way the pressure got to them. They were out of timeouts with 12 min to go in the game and then called one they didn't have later and got T'ed up for it... To me that right there was the most impressive thing that i saw our full court press do tonight. Pretty rare to see a team out of timeouts with that much time left.

still really early. The Aggies are probably better than Omaha. very interested to see how we do against them.

Those who are missing out are definitely missing out. I got hooked on Lobo basketball when Ellenberger had his great '77-'78 team that got ranked as high as number 4 in the nation and regularly scored in the neighborhood of 100 points (prior to the three point shot). I'm not comparing this team to that. Far from it. But the defensive energy and the offensive explosiveness is somewhat reminiscent of that style of play. I would encourage those fans who haven't attended this year, but who have the means and ability to easily do so, to get to the Pit and see some entertaining basketball.

I still think we will really struggle as the talent level of our opponents ramps up...I just don't think the full court press (non stop) will benefit us as much. But maybe more importantly, teams that are physical enough to be out on our offense in a man defense will have a better chance at shutting us down from the outside. Having said that, it's as good of a strategy as any with this team, IMO. I do love Weir so far and like everyone has noted, the effort is great and refreshing. Looking forward to much future success this year and beyond.
