Well, the guy is 6-10, 240 and appears to have a pretty good shooting touch. I think Weir can work with that.

Oh, Tajuan Agee and Tyler JC also win their regional tourney to advance to the national tournament. Tajuan with a good tourney showing, putting up 20 points/6 rebs , 10 points/9 rebs , and 12 points/7 rebs in the three games.

I think 6-10 240 Isaiah Maurice is going to be a major addition to the Lobo BB Program. He has stated he wants to work to get bigger and stronger. I believe he played at about 210 to 220 at Kansas St. He was still a boy in their program. Coach Weir and the Lobo BB Program will be getting to work with him as a man. It looks like he could easily carry another 10-15 and still retain that mobility. Another 10 to 15 would take his game to another level. He is a multi-skilled big man that can run the floor. Maurice bears a very strong resemblance to a former all time great Power Foward of the past. I am talking about former Marquette great and Portland Trailblazer Maurice Lucas.

My hope is all the players that have committed will be here for the Summer and Coach Weir's conditioning program and training table benefits. The results were clearly obvious when you look at how Joe Furstinger, Connor McD, Vance Jackson, and Lyle really optimized their conditioning. It was too bad that MM and Vlad did not get to participate in that program.

I am anxious to see what kind of shape the returning players will be in, along with all the newcomers. Vlad could grow into a 255 beast that can dunk effortlessly. What could another ten pounds of muscle do for MM and Mathis? Will a bigger, stronger Vance Jackson be far more than the great 3pt shooter he was at UCONN at 6-9 235? How good will Jaquan Lyle be coming into next season in the best shape of his life? Will 6-9 245 Carlton Bragg come in and allow Coach Weir to fulfill his potential in every way?

Are the Lobos set at PG with Chris McNeal, Jaquan Lyle, and Dru Drinnon? Drinnon has played along four and five stars his whole career. The competition will be at a high level and every player will benefit from it. Steel sharpens steel. I would not bet against Drinnon.

So many options. How much better will Kuiper be without the nagging injuries that plagued him? Troy Simons found his comfort level and really came on strong at the end of the season. Will that carry over to a great senior year? Steel on steel... He is going to get better.

Is McD returning or not? Will Harriman be back? Who is leaving? Who is staying? April signing period is coming and who will the Lobos still add to this talented roster? There is no off season for Lobo BB. The anticipation, the excitement, "THE BUZZ" is back.

Will Coach Weir be successful in what is looking to be a daunting task. Can a run at national prominence and the Top 25 bring "The Pit" back to it's former glory as it's core fan base continues to grow another year older?

My thoughts on Isaiah Maurice, Carlton Bragg and TaJuan Agee is that Weir recruited them on the basis that they could run. I have seen videos on Isaiah and Carlton and the ones I have seen were able to shoot the three and were very mobile. It seems to me that if Weir continues the way he has that maybe if you are 6'10 of which all three are, that you need to be able to run. I do not see a return to a half court game with fairly limited bigs.

Agreed, and not only that, based on what we saw this year, he is going to go as fast on the tempo as we can. I have no doubt, we will go at least 10 deep, if not 12 deep, depending on whose is available for each game. Each of those bigs needs to be ready to get up and down court every game. BTW, the ones that "are" good enough for the NBA, this will be a great place to prepare for that. They will have the most important part already taken care of, great conditioning and ability to run the court easily.

I can definitely see the way Weir is going to run things as a great place for NBA training. We'll have the talent next year, let's see if he can continue to recruit at a high level.

Also here is highlights of South Plains vs Odessa in their Regional Title game. Isaiah Maurice really takes over in the second half.

Easily could put on another 10 to 15 pounds of muscle. Nice touch around the basket and out to the 3pt line. He likes to run the floor too. Very nice addition to the Lobo's roster. Very nice ...

Both Agee and Maurice played yesterday in the opening round of the National Juco Tourney http://www.njcaahutchtourney.com/landing/index

Agee and 17th seed Tyler got bounced by 16th seed Barton. Agee, off the bench, had 4 points and 7 rebounds in 23 minutes

Maurice led 13th seed South Plains over Highland 91-71. He had 22, on 10-15 from the field and 6 boards. South Plains will play 4th seed Salt Lake tomorrow, Wednesday at 11am Mtn. For a mere $4.99 you can get it streamed.

I believe Big-cheese Weir and Mason be at courtside.

I'm not ready to say Kirk and Bairstow yet, but man, it's going to be pretty awesome having Bragg and Maurice inside for this team. That will allow someone like Vance to play more on the perimeter if that's what Weir wants him to do.

I am looking at Vance Jackson fulfilling his potential and becoming the total package, inside and out to the perimeter. The guy has gotten bigger and stronger as a Lobo. He is listed at 6-9 235 and is looking to get beyond his reputation as a great 3pt shooter. If he does that, the NBA is his next stop.

Skill development will be a huge part of this BB Program as Coach Weir is always looking for his guys to get stronger, quicker, better. A better, stronger, bigger, quicker Pinchuk could be the answer when Coach Weir and the Lobos need a big man in the middle in a half court game. He could easily go 250 plus. Come to think of it,
"The Spaniard" could also come in and play the role of the bruiser on the boards at 6-8 245.
6-7 230 Austin Trice is also a possibility in that role as well. Carlton Bragg will not be playing in that first semester and Lobos are not going to be out rebounded next season.

I can still see MM playing in the front court as a change up at a better, bigger, stronger
6-5 215 with a summer at the training table.

    6-10 240 Isaiah Maurice
    6-9 245 Carlton Bragg
    6-9 235 Vance Jackson
    6-10 240 Vladimir Pinchuk
    6-8 210 TaJuan Agee
    6-5 210 Makuach Maluach
    YTD Big Man?

And as of today, 6'9" CMac. I noticed you didn't shrink Vlad like you did on an earlier post along with shrinking Joe. I don't believe any of these sizes are necessarily accurate but let's not shrink or increase just to fit an agenda. Also, I think Agee is being listed at 6'9" by UNM while Bragg is most often listed at 6'9" - who really knows?

also, I suggest we wait to see who is actually here this fall. Obviously, there may be one or more transfers out but also, I don't think Maurice, Agee or Bragg have signed. Weir has said that not only are they continuing to recruit but they are also visiting all of their existing recruits to make sure they know what will be expected, likely roles and who all we have coming that they will have to compete with. With Weir mentioning the possibility of a adding one or two more (at least one being a guard), the roster is still in flux. Only time will tell who will actually be Lobos come next season.
