Thats two NM kids now on D1 schollies - congratulations to them. Obviously, while D1 they appear to have not been a good fit for UNM so there should be no recriminations about not recruiting NM kids.

I attended Texas State and was a decathlete there. San Marcos is a really nice town. Lyndon B. Johnson, George Strait, Paul Goldschmidt (5-time MLB All-Star) and Charles Austin (1996 Atlanta Olympics High Jump Gold Medalist) are notable graduates. I think Marlon will have a really amazing college career at Texas State. Good luck!

Congrats to Marlon. Wish he were a Lobo, but can see how it is a tough fit in Weir's system.
Weir and Mason need to go after the Zeller kid. He is the next D1 in state kid from the 2019 class. 6'3-6'4 PG with good athleticism and elite level passing ability.

He plays at Los Lunas. His dad just won his third title with the girls program, and his sister just had a great season with the Nevada women's program. He also plays for D1 Ambassadors i have heard. I got to see him play a few times in the regular season and then in the state tournament. He has the highest ceiling of any kid I saw in the state this year with his size and talent level. He wasn't the best player I saw (That was Anthony Chavez), but his ceiling is higher for sure. Although, I went to see Anthony play when they played Los Lunas, and Zeller was the best player on the court that night by far. Weir was in attendance to see Anthony which could by why he had an off night. He would fit in perfect in Weirs system. Uptempo, he loves to push the ball ahead and play fast.

Don’t know much about him, but given that Weir likes the uptempo game Zeller sounds like a gazelle:

Zeller looks good! He probably not at the level Weir is looking for, however he looks like he potentially could have a great career in the RMAC or similar DII conference.

He might excel in the RMAC. I think witha little development he can become a pretty good division 1 player. He’s got really good size and a good skill set. He can play multiple guard spots. Loves to push the ball ahead and as I noticed in that highlight he has a knack for getting deflections, something this staff places a high emphasis on. Idk if he would be able to come in and contribute right away as a freshman. At the same time, you have to remember he’s only a junior as well. Who knows how much better he may be at this time next season.
