    First Post Banner
The MW schedule is officially out for both men's and women's teams. At least 16 postseason teams for the women next season...What are your thoughts on the overall 2018-19 schedule?

The seem to have done a better job reducing the travel with two away games on each conference trip, however we only play AF once. Wasn't it only 2 or 3 years ago we only played AF once?

I think you're right about AF. And don't most teams usually get 2 byes during conference season? Lubbock Christian Won the NCAA Div 2 National championship a couple of years ago and was in the elite 8 2017/18. Their coach is an assistant on the U17 team this year. Should be a good test for the exhibition game.

If coach B. is excited, I am excited too. Seems like a good balanced OOC schedule. Wouldn't expect a big winning streak to get the season rolling like last year. Still we could be looking good and well prepared and ready for conference. Can't wait for the season to start. BTW, I really don't like the women's schedule for the tournament in Vegas. Not much incentive for men's fans to go early to cheer for the women. Doubt the other programs care much. Oh, well, some things don't seem to ever change. Unless they get worse. In my opinion, there is little reason to continue to have the women's tournament in Vegas. Hold it in ABQ where they will get decent attendance.

We played Long beach St once, March of 2000 (WNIT). It was at the Pit, we lost 87-63.

Jordan Adams had 11 points (the only Lobo in double figures) and 7 rebounds.

Completely agree about the MW tournament. The MW has done everything imaginable to separate the two tournaments--and CLAIM to do it with the intent of INCREASING attendance at the women's games. 90% chance they are lying, 40% they are stupid, 30% chance it is both.

They should absolutely get the women's tournament out of LV. Rotate it among UNM, WYO, and any other schools that average at least a decent attendance (2,000 per game??). Or permanently have it in ABQ. Or there are likely some other decent options, but if left to their anti-UNM practices the next thing they will do is relocate the women's games to some LV high school and only allow each school to have 25 fans attend.

Hate that we don't get to see Boise in the Pit. Could also hurt our tie-breaker situation if we don't pull off the road upset.

Here's the full MWC schedule for all teams by date (with a brief preview from the MWC office):

    http://www.themwc.com/news/2018/6/11...px?path=wbball

We have a brutal end to our MWC schedule with a Saturday-Monday road trip to CSU and Boise State followed by a Thursday game against Wyoming. Fresno State (Sat) and UNLV (Mon) got a break by getting a bye on that compressed weekend.

Here are the "bye" teams for each member:

    AFA - UNM, @FSU
    BSU - USU, @UNM
    CSU - SDSU, @SJSU
    FSU - AFA, @UNLV
    Nev - SJSU, @Wyo
    UNM - BSU, @AFA
    SDSU - Wyo, @CSU
    SJSU - CSU, @Nev
    UNLV - FSU, @USU
    USU - UNLV, @BSU
    Wyo - Nev, @SDSU

CSU has the hardest draw, playing arguably the two weakest teams only once. Utah State has the easiest, playing arguably the two strongest teams only once.
