    Weir, Walton and me

    First Post Banner
Bob Weir, Bill Walton and me all plan on being at the Isleta Amphitheater this Wednesday to see Dead & Co. Coach Weir is probably not going.

Need some venue info. Last show I saw there was The Who in 1897 or thereabouts. I don’t recall if the sections 1,2 and 3 right behind the general admission “pit” are choice locations or should I just go for the the general admission and swim to the front.

Walton is a really good guy. Got in his face at a show in Mountain View on July 3rd. Invited him to the Pit, he politely declined, although I seriously worked him. Told me they were getting in late Wednesday and he thought the venue was way out of town. Said he never had been to Albuquerque.

I did strongly advise him the Lobos were on the rise, Weir was from a different school of coaching and they would lead the nation in scoring. He laughed, told me he loved offense.

If you run into him, he is approachable, be polite and he will engage.

Btw that Paul Weir & Co. are really kicking butt, no?

Still got my ticket from The Grateful Dead show at the SF Downs back in the mid 80s. Great show!

Funny story... long ago, I listened to a message Bill left for a (now former) Lobo post player. After saying his full name he went on to spell out W a l t o n...

This was after his playing days... during television commentator days...!

I miss that kind of humility. ;)
    GO LOBOS!

    Bloo, is this your alt-account?

Seriously: Mayer was just on tour with Dave Chappelle. That's some range.

Ah, Shoreline Amphitheater....lots of good memories there.....except the night one Zylan Cheathum shocked us all and chose SDSU..ruining my night at Neil Young's Bridge School concert ;-) Some gifts are difficult to recognize at first glance.....

Big fan, doubt Snake will be hanging there. Mayer revitalized Bob Weir. This band, with Mayer, has played over 100 shows as of this tour. Saw Mayer with Chappell in Radio City. Versatile yes, guitar virtuoso indeed.

Alt-account? LOL, what, Bloo isn't versatile enough?

Besides, I would have left a cryptic "controlled danger" or "dead and company" reference, just for grins.

    SPECIAL INVITE for Lair "Heads"----
Dead & Co are on fire!!! DO NOT MISS THE ISLETA SHOW. Isleta is by far the smallest venue on their tour (kudos to those folks for bringing us the Dead for the first time in ABQ since '77!) - Saturday night they played Dodger Stadium and after ABQ they will be playing two nights next weekend in Boulder at the football stadium.

I am THRILLED to announce that a small downtown venue complex, The Cell Theatre and The FUSION Forum, have scored the Official After Concert Party!! Hosted by Grammy winner Chris Berry, the party will feature CB3 and the Djembe Cowboys, and SPECIAL GUESTS!!! Not yet public knowledge is that Bill Kreutzmann, an original member of the Dead, has committed to playing the event. He has also mentioned that a few other band members have expressed interest.

The concert at Isleta will be finished by 11 pm curfew. Doors for the after party open at 11:30 pm. There is no curfew in the 300 person capacity space. If you are a fan, this is DO NOT MISS!!

    More info: HERE

    Facebook event page: HERE

If you see Walton, pass this info along.......

I love that line, one of my favorite Dead lyrics.

Servehim, for what it's worth that's just Jerry Garcia's tongue in cheek self-effacing humor. Not to be taken too seriously if possible.....

Go Dead and Company. Have fun at the show folks.

I'll be there! The last time I saw the Dead was two nights in a row at Red Rocks back in 1976. They moved the show to McNichols Arena on the third night due to weather issues.

I take it as no matter how they do (even when others are down on them) I am gonna enjoy every minute of Lobo Athletics as I can.

I do have another quote from the same song that I like but can't really swing it at the moment into a Lobo meaning like I used to.

There may come a day when I'll dance on your grave
Unable to dance I'll still crawl across it
I used to take it when we played sdsu and beat them knocking them off.

Now maybe it can reference Nevada this coming season
