She played so well tonight. Hope she is ok.
Echo That! Maybe somebody can let up know how she is doing????
Go Lobos!
Best wishes Lauren!

lauren was the player tonite that got the lobos going...before her spark we seemed to be just goin' thru the motions without excitement...taylor is becoming one of my favorites because of her enthusiasm and effort...
'...the Pit is just God awful uncomfortable for a visiting team.'
...he yells, "No one comes to the hoop now, Melvin. No one!", Harv Schmidt to Mel Daniels
“They’re loud and they get on you. They know everything about you. They know your mom’s name.”, jimmer fredette.
...Bobby Knight was screaming at his starters for being late. "We're getting our #!&$@$ kicked! Because you were late!".
Thanks to everyone for their well-wishes. Lauren was x-rayed this morning, and there is no fracture. This afternoon, the doctor said that she has a grade 2 high ankle sprain and a grade 2 lateral sprain. Queenie and Dr. McGrew are wonderful. I am very impressed with the care that Lauren is receiving. As for participating in practice and games, she was told it would be a day-by-day evaluation.
Lauren said as far as she knows, her foot caught with the defender's, and she thinks it rolled inward (and not outward which is what usually happens). But she was so focused when she was on the floor of getting that ball to Amy that she isn't really sure what happened. My heart was in my throat, and I was watching her knee and not her foot, so I don't know what happened either. Her leg seemed in such an awkward position when she was on the floor, but thankfully, that was not the injury.
So that is all we know at this point. She is getting therapy right now as I type this.
Thank you again to everyone for your support. It means the world to me.
Amy

My first concern was also her knee. It was good to see her limping off the court even though she needed a little bit of help. I'm glad to learn it was not a high ankle sprain - those can last all season long. I hope she recovers quickly.
Lauren was really looking comfortable on the floor last night. Nice to see her picking things up so quickly. Hang in there lady, we're all pulling for you.

Unfortunately, it is a high ankle sprain. And a lateral sprain, too.![]()
I was able to only catch bits and pieces of the game off the web--I haven't been able to convince the Ohio radio stations to carry the Lobo games. I had been on line only a few minutes when Lauren got hurt. I certainly hope her is fully recovered soon--the transitions to college and away from home are tough enough in good conditions, having to deal with the frustration of an injury just makes it more so. We can use her energy and quickness, but even more has to be the frustration of the player watching from the sidelines.
Get well soon, Lauren.

Thank you, Amy. With all these HIPAA regulations dealing with patient privacy issues, we had no way of knowing what was going on with Lauren. It was quite a downer watching her on crutches at the game. Btw, she sounded very mature and composed when interviewed on Lobo Talk. You must be very proud of her. We are all pulling for her.
I thought all 3 girls did a very nice job. That was the first time I had ever been to Kelly's. Once again, I met some very friendly people....just like at the game.
BTW, Lauren is not using a crutch anymore. She even was jogging lightly. I am amazed at the work that Queenie has done with Lauren.
